    Abstract: A damped turbine blade assembly for a gas turbine engine is disclosed. The damped turbine blade assembly includes a damper positioned within a first small slot of a first turbine blade and a second large slot of the second turbine blade. A portion of the damper can slidably mate with the second large slot providing a radial and angular connection between the first turbine blade and second turbine blade while allowing movement in a direction tangent to a radial of a center axis of the gas turbine engine. The tangential movement is resisted by friction between the damper contacting the second large slot and provides friction damping against vibrations felt by the turbine blades during operation of the gas turbine engine. The damper can be shaped and/or pre-stressed to control the normal force component of the friction between the damper and the second large slot.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides a tube shaping tool for a torque mechanism to modify a tube end. The tube shaping tool can include a cup and an internal assembly. The internal tube assembly can include a stem and an internal body. The stem can be received by the torque mechanism and transmit torque generated from the torque mechanism to the components of the tube shaping tool. The tube shaping tool can roll form the outside diameter of the tube end using standard bearings and a flange bearing attached to the internal body. The flange bearing can also include a flange that can provide facing of the tube end.

    Abstract: A cutting assembly for cutting a workpiece includes a frame, a fixture, and a saw. The fixture is coupled to the frame, and is configured to receive the workpiece. The saw has a cutter to cut the workpiece. The saw is pivotally coupled to the frame. The cutting assembly further includes a locking assembly for locking the workpiece within the fixture. The locking assembly includes a lock structure pivotally coupled to the fixture. The lock structure is configured to lock the workpiece within the fixture. The locking assembly further includes a telescopic structure coupled to the saw and the lock structure. The telescopic structure is configured to move the lock structure in response to a pivotal movement of the saw. The telescopic structure facilitates a locking, by the lock structure, of the workpiece within the fixture.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a stem for a fuel injector of gas turbine engine includes forging a material into a unitary workpiece, which includes forging a top disk having a cylindrical shape, forging a body extending from a base of the top disk, and forging a lower disk connected to the body, distal to the top disk, the lower disk having a cylindrical shape oriented transverse to the top disk.     Abstract: An airfoil for a turbomachine such as a gas turbine engine includes a switchbacked passage for conveying cooling fluid, and flow-distribution passages in a forward wall so as to direct cooling fluid from the internal passage for back side impingement upon a leading edge of the airfoil. An inner cooling wall forms a passage for discharging the spent cooling air from a trailing edge of the airfoil after impingement, and cools one of a pressure side and a suction side of the airfoil by way of conduction. The switchbacked passage may have a serpentine form.
