The process includes using a cylindrical casting mold having an casting surface, the casting mold having a temperature which is maintained at a temperature colder than an elastomeric material being cast, casting a hollow cylindrical sleeve from the elastomeric material on the casting mold, the elastomeric material containing at least one crystallization component, providing the sleeve with an interior cylindrical surface and an exterior cylindrical surface, one of the internal or external surfaces being formed against the casting surface of the cylindrical casting mold, wherein the surface of the sleeve which is formed against the casting surface is harder than a surface which is not formed against the casting surface.

The recesses located within the outer sections may include a plurality of recesses having a limited length in the travel direction and the recesses located within the inner section may include grooves substantially extending endlessly in the travel direction.

    摘要: A press blanket for a press device in a paper making machine, or the like, is formed of an elastomeric blanket material and fully embedded layers of reinforcement threads. The radially inner layer is formed of longitudinal threads which extend parallel to the axis of the press blanket. The radially outer layer is formed of circumferential threads which are wound in the direction of blanket motion and are wound generally helically. The threads are fully surrounded by the layer of elastomeric material which is of homogeneous, that is formed from a single pouring. The circumferential threads have a diameter of at most 1/500 of the outside diameter of the fully rounded press blanket. In a unit area of the press blanket, the tensile strength of the circumferential threads is at least 40% greater than the tensile strength of the longitudinal threads. An apparatus for forming such a press blanket includes a rotatable pouring cylinder on which the longitudinal threads are supported, an elastomeric material pouring nozzle which moves longitudinally over the pouring cylinder and an unwinding device for delivering the circumferential threads in a helical manner and located just after the pouring nozzle above the pouring cylinder.

    摘要: A flexible press cover which has an additional strengthening element in at least one of its two end regions. As a result, in the end region, the tensile strength and the tensile rigidity in the circumferential direction are increased with respect to that hitherto known in such a way that it is no longer necessary to clamp the press cover end region in between two components. Instead, the press cover according to the present invention is suitable to be fixed to the outer circumferential surface of a rotatable supporting element belonging to the cover carrying disk without the aid of an outer ring, a clamping band, clamping filament or the like. In the most beneficial case, the arrangement for fixing the press cover to the aforementioned supporting element is completely free of any kind of fixing elements which would be associated with the cover outer surface.

The roll cover includes a layer of elastomeric material having filaments running approximately longitudinally with respect to a web run direction and transversely to the web run direction embedded for reinforcement, and at least one layer of additional reinforcing filaments embedded in at least some sections of the elastomeric layer. The additional reinforcing filaments run at an angle between 20° and 70° with respect to the web run direction. The layer is arranged to form roll ends connectable to a roll axle.
