L-A-AMINOCAPROLACTAM IS OBTAINED BY A PROCESS COMPRISING THE STEPS OF: (A) FORMING A COMPLEX OF D,L-A-AMINOCAPROLACTAM WITH A METAL ION SELECTED O D,L-A-AMINOCAPROLACTAM OF NI++, CO++, CU++, FE++, FE+++ AND ZN++; (B) OPTICALLY RESOLVING SAID D,L-A-AMINOCAPROLACT M (C) RECOVERING AND DECOMPOSING L-A-AMINOCAPRROLACTAM METAL COMPLEX TO AFFORD L-A-AMINOCAPROLACTAM PLUS METAL ION; AND (D) RACEMIZING D-A-AMINOCAPROLACTAM METAL COMPLEX TO AFFORD D-A-AMINOCAPROLACTAM METAL COMPLEX.

Abstract:
A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF D,L,-LYSINE AMIDE BY THE TWO-STEP HYDROGENATION OF 2-OXIMINO-6-NITROHEXANAMIDE. IN THE FIRST STEP, 2-OXIMINO-6-AMINOHEXANAMIDE IS PRODUCED AS AN INTERMEDIATE, AND CLAIMED AS A NEW PRODUCT. WATER IS REMOVED FROM THE REACTION PRODUCTS OF THE FIRST STEP, AND IN THE SECOND STEP THE INTERMEDIATE 2OXIMINO-6-AMINOHEXANAMIDE IS HYDROGENATED TO D,L,LYSINE AMIDE.
