Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a user interface of an application. The device detects a first portion of an input including a contact on the touch-sensitive surface, and then detects a second portion of the input including movement of the contact across the touch-sensitive surface. The device displays, during the movement, application views including an application view that corresponds to the user interface of the application and another application view that corresponds to a different user interface of a different application. The device then detects a third portion of the input, including a liftoff of the contact from the touch-sensitive surface. In response, the device, upon determining that application-switcher-display criteria are met, displays an application-switcher user interface, and upon determining that home-display criteria are met, the device displays a home screen user interface that includes application launch icons.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a first user interface of a first application. The device detects an input a contact on the touch-sensitive surface, movement of the contact across the touch-sensitive surface, and liftoff of the contact at an end of the movement. In response, the device, in accordance with a determination that the input meets last-application-display criteria, displays a second user interface of a second application that is distinct from the first application; and in accordance with a determination that the input meets home-display criteria, displays a home screen user interface that includes a plurality of application launch icons that correspond to a plurality of applications installed on the device.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a touch-sensitive display and one or more sensors to detect signals from a stylus associated with the device: while the electronic device is in a locked state: displays a lock screen user interface on the touch-sensitive display; while displaying the lock screen user interface, detects a first input from the stylus to draw on the touch-sensitive display; in response to detecting the first input, displays, over the lock screen user interface, one or more marks of a drawing that correspond to the first input; while displaying, on the lock screen user interface, the one or more marks of the drawing: detects a second input from the stylus to display a drawing application in a restricted mode; and, in response to detecting the second input, executes the drawing application in the restricted mode and displays the one or more marks of the drawing in the drawing application.
Abstract:
An electronic device has multiple cameras and displays a digital viewfinder user interface for previewing visual information provided by the cameras. The multiple cameras may have different properties such as focal lengths. When a single digital viewfinder is provided, the user interface allows zooming over a zoom range that includes the respective zoom ranges of both cameras. The zoom setting to determine which camera provides visual information to the viewfinder and which camera is used to capture visual information. The user interface also allows the simultaneous display of content provided by different cameras at the same time. When two digital viewfinders are provided, the user interface allows zooming, freezing, and panning of one digital viewfinder independently of the other. The device allows storing of a composite images and/or videos using both digital viewfinders and corresponding cameras.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a touch-sensitive display displays an electronic calendar and detects a hand-drawn input on the touch-sensitive display. The hand-drawn input extends over a vertical portion, less than all, of an area corresponding to a first day in the calendar. In response to detecting the hand-drawn input, the device displays, over the vertical portion of the first day, one or more graphics that correspond to the hand-drawn input. While displaying the graphics, the device detects an input that corresponds to a request to create an event in the electronic calendar. In response, the device creates, in the first day in the electronic calendar, an event with a start time and an end time, wherein the start time and the end time of the event are in accordance with the first day that the hand drawn input extends over.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and an embedded fingerprint sensor displays a lock screen on the display. While displaying the lock screen, the electronic device detects a first touch input on the embedded fingerprint sensor. In response to detecting the first touch input on the embedded fingerprint sensor: the electronic device, in accordance with a determination that first timing criteria are met, displays content of a plurality of messages; and the electronic device, in accordance with a determination that second timing criteria, different from the first timing criteria are met, ceases to display the lock screen and displaying a home screen use interface for the electronic device with a plurality of application icons.
Abstract:
A method includes: displaying a user interface including an instant messaging conversation between a first person and a second person, the instant messaging conversation displaying content balloons with instant messages exchanged between the first and second person. The method also includes: in accordance with a determination that the second person is typing the instant message, displaying a typed-message-preparation indicator in the user interface of a communication application. The method further includes: in accordance with a determination that the second person is drawing the instant message, displaying a drawn-message-preparation indicator in the user interface of the communication application. In response to receiving the instant message prepared by the second person that corresponds to the displayed message preparation indicator, the method includes: ceasing to display the typed-message-preparation indicator or the drawn-message-preparation indicator, and displaying a content balloon that contains the instant message prepared by the second person in the instant messaging conversation.

Abstract:
Presenting shortcuts to provide computer software commands. A user interface associated with a computer software application, which includes multiple portions, is displayed. Each portion is associated with a command to perform an operation of the application in response to the command. In response to a selection of a particular portion of the user interface, another user interface is displayed. In the other user interface, a name of a particular command and a keyboard shortcut key selectable to perform an operation in response to the particular command are displayed. Additionally, a virtual keyboard that includes multiple alphanumeric keys, including the keyboard shortcut key, is displayed in the other user interface. The keyboard shortcut key is displayed on the virtual keyboard to be visually distinct from remaining alphanumeric keys on the virtual keyboard.
