Abstract: A pressure compensating button can include a depressible interface. The depressible interface can define an external surface of the electronic device. The button can include a tactile switch. The button can include a first pressure accumulator, such as a first piston or plunger. The first pressure accumulator can be associated with the depressible interface. The first pressure accumulator can be configured to receive a first hydrostatic pressure. The button can include a second pressure accumulator, such as a second piston or plunger. The second pressure accumulator can be configured to receive a second hydrostatic pressure. The second pressure accumulator can counteract the first pressure accumulator, such as via a mechanical linkage, to limit an actuation of the tactile switch via the first hydrostatic pressure. Additional systems and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: An electronic device can include a housing at least partially defining an internal volume and an exterior surface of the electronic device. The electronic device can also include a display assembly including a display layer, a substrate disposed below the display layer, and a substantially continuous sheet of conductive material disposed on the substrate, the sheet of conductive material covering substantially an entire surface of the substrate. A transparent cover can overlie the display assembly and can be affixed to the housing.
