Abstract: A display system of a display includes a first light emitting diode, a second light emitting diode, a current source, and at least one transistor. The first and the second light emitting diodes emit light. The current source provides a constant current to the first light emitting diode and the second light emitting diode. Moreover, the at least one transistor removes the current or shunts the current towards the first light emitting diode, the second light emitting diode, or both. Removing the current or shunting the current towards the first light emitting diode, the second light emitting diode, or both, may blend outputs of the first light emitting diode and the second light emitting diode.

Abstract: Systems and apparatuses for hybrid micro-driver architectures having time multiplexing for driving displays are described. In one embodiment, a display (e.g., hybrid display architecture) includes a backplane and a micro-driver circuitry that is coupled to the backplane. The backplane includes circuitry (e.g., sample and hold circuitry) for sampling and holding analog data and for time multiplexing analog data. The micro-driver circuitry includes at least a capacitor of a ramp generator for generating a ramp voltage based on the analog data of the backplane and drive circuitry to cause at least one emission pulse for emitting a display element.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for controlling an emission of the light emitting devices are described herein. The light emitting devices may be light emitting diode (LED) devices including μLED devices or organic LED (OLED) devices. Emission control of the LED may be performed using a micro-scale driving circuit (e.g., μDriver) containing drive transistors for constant current driving of the light emitting devices. One embodiment provides for a display driver hardware circuit including emission logic, the emission logic including comparator logic to compare a data voltage from a storage capacitor to a voltage ramp provided via the TFT backplane, the comparator logic to cause the emission logic to generate an emission pulse to an LED device, and wherein the integrated circuit is to switch and drive a plurality of LED devices. In one embodiment each of the plurality of LED devices is a subpixel for a display device.
