摘要: A method of forming a roll for embossing aluminum sheet, and the associated roll, the method comprising subjecting a surface of a steel roll to at least the steps of, in order: blasting treatment, electrolytic treatment with 1,000 to 20,000 C/dm2 of electricity in which the steel roll is used as the anode, and chromium plating treatment. An aluminum sheet embossing roll produced by the method of the present invention has on the surface thereof peaks, or asperities, which are of uniform height and very numerous. As a result, aluminum sheets obtained using such a roll, when employed as lithographic printing plate supports, have excellent printing characteristics, particularly a long press life and a high sensitivity.

摘要: Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a lithographic printing plate support, including a step of subjecting an aluminum plate to at least: a mechanical graining treatment using a brush and a slurry containing an abrasive to carry out mechanical graining such that the average surface roughness Ra is 0.25 μm or more but less than 0.40 μm, and an electrochemical graining treatment for carrying out electrochemical graining in an aqueous solution containing hydrochloric acid such that the average surface roughness Ra is 0.40 to 0.55 μm, with the treatments being performed in this order, so as to obtain a lithographic printing plate support. By this method, a lithographic printing plate support which can be used for a presensitized plate of high sensitivity which has both an excellent scumming resistance and a good press life when made into a lithographic printing plate is obtained.

By this method, a lithographic printing plate support which makes it possible to obtain a presensitized plate having both an excellent scumming resistance and a good press life by a single electrochemical graining treatment.

摘要: A support made of an aluminum plate for a planographic printing plate is electrochemically roughened in an acidic aqueous solution in an electrolytic apparatus with plural cathodes and anodes arranged alternately on one side of the plate by applying a DC voltage. A soft starting zone which comprises at least one electrode connected to an electric power supply, which is separate from a main electric source, is provided. A current density of 0.01 to 100 A/dm2, which is lower than the current density used in any subsequent main roughening, is provided in the soft starting zone.

摘要: An aluminum support for a lithographic printing plate used in off-set printing or the like is disclosed, having a surface shape determined using an atomic force microscope (AFM) such that when measured within the measurement range of 100 .mu.m square with the resolution in the horizontal (X, Y) direction being 0.1 .mu.m, assuming that the surface area obtained by an approximate three-point problem is .alpha. and the upper projected area is .beta., the .alpha./.beta. value (specific surface area) is from 1.15 to 1.5, and when measured within the measurement range of 240 .mu.m square with the resolution in the horizontal (X, Y) direction being 1.9 .mu.m, the average surface roughness is from 0.35 to 1.0 .mu.m and the ratio of the sum of the surface area where the gradient of 30.degree. or more to the total surface area is from 5 to 40%.

摘要: Disclosed is a presensitized plate, having an anodized layer and recording layer provided on a support for a lithographic printing plate, wherein the anodized layer is provided by subjecting an aluminum plate to graining and anodizing treatments. The presensitized plate has wide development latitude, makes it difficult for scratch-like non-image portions to be generated and facilitates handling in usual operation.
