    摘要: A detector apparatus is disclosed for emitting a warning alarm signal in response to the presence of a hazardous condition within at least one room of a building having a plurality of rooms. The apparatus includes a plurality of hazardous condition detectors arranged such that at least one detector is disposed within each of the rooms. Each of the detectors includes a detecting device for detecting the presence of the hazardous condition and a micro controller electrically connected to the detecting device and powered by an electrical power source. An alarm is electrically connected to the controller such that when the detecting device detects the presence of the hazardous condition, the controller emits an electrical signal. An analog to digital converter device is electrically connected to the controller for converting the electrical signal into a digital signal so that when the hazardous condition is detected, the converter transmits the digital signal. A receiver is provided for receiving the digital signal. The receiver includes an antenna for receiving the digital signal and a crystal for detecting the digital signal and for using the detected digital signal to activate the alarm. The arrangement is such that the alarm emits the warning alarm signal. Each of the detectors of the plurality of detectors is disposed remote relative to each other within each of the rooms of the building such that when a hazardous condition is detected by one of the detectors, all of the detectors emit warning alarm signals for warning occupants within any of the rooms of a potential hazard within at least one of the rooms.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method of compensating any of a plurality of different pressure transducers for their characteristic pressure sensitivity, zero pressure offset, and self-heating error. The method comprises selecting a gain resistor that adjusts the gain of an output signal of the pressure transducer in use so that the pressure transducer appears as an ideal pressure transducer to a pressure monitor. The self-heating error is compensated by measuring an initial bridge voltage that drives the transducer and an initial output signal of the pressure transducer when the transducer is first energized. After a period of time a second bridge voltage and a second output signal are determined. The self-heating error is determined as a function of the difference between the initial and second values. The zero pressure offset is compensated by determining the output signal of the pressure transducer at zero gauge pressure after the pressure has been compensated for the self-heating error.

    摘要: A laser security fence apparatus is disclosed for providing a warning signal in response to an intrusion by an intruder of a restricted area. The apparatus includes a laser generator for generating a laser beam and a first mirror aligned with the laser beam for reflecting the beam. A second mirror is aligned with the first mirror for reflecting the beam reflected by the first mirror and a collector is aligned with the second mirror for collecting the beam reflected by the second mirror. A microprocessor is associated with the collector and the generator for sensing when the beam is broken by the intruder so that the beam is not received by the collector. An alarm is connected to the microprocessor for actuation by the microprocessor when the microprocessor senses that the beam is broken so that the alarm provides the warning signal.

    摘要: A pressure transducer compensation system for compensating an offset and adjusting the sensitivity of the pressure transducer to a predetermined level. A reusable cable (160) connected to a pressure monitor (14) is intended for use with a plurality of disposable pressure transducers (12). In one embodiment, a connector (150) of the reusable cable includes a CPU (70), which determines the offset and self-heating errors of the pressure transducer during the first 30 seconds it is energized, stores the corrections in its internal memory and compensates the output signal produced by the pressure transducer for those errors and for variations in ambient temperature. A gain-set resistor (56) is included in a male modular phone plug (202) of a disposable cable that is integrally connected to the pressure transducer, and is used by the compensation circuit to control the signal produced by the pressure transducer, compensating for the characteristic sensitivity of the device. In a second embodiment, the disposable cable includes an offset resistor (250), and the compensation system uses a charge balance modulator 9260) to produce a pulse width modulated signal that is compensated for both the offset and characteristic sensitivity of the pressure transducer.
