Abstract: A video conference system built in an internet protocol (IP) network is provided. The system has: a multimedia capturing unit configured to photograph and output a first video signal; a DECT telephone configured to receive sounds and output a first audio signal; and a video conference terminal apparatus, including: an audio processing unit is an audio codec; a video processing unit is an video codec; and a network processing unit for transmitting a first network packet consisting of first audio/video streams generated by the audio/video processing units to the IP network, wherein the network processing unit receives a second network packet consisting of second audio/video streams from the IP network, wherein the second audio/video streams are decoded by the audio/video processing units, respectively, to generate second audio/video signals, which are displayed on the DECT telephone and a display apparatus, respectively.

Abstract: The invention provides a traffic control system and method. In particular, the traffic control system and method according to the invention utilizes GPS, AGPS, GLONSS, Galileo global navigation satellite system, and so on to generate and transmit a preemption request signal for an emergency vehicle, such as ambulance, etc. At a designated traffic signal, the preemption request signal is received and filtered to get designated data associated with the designated traffic signal. Afterward, if the designated signal is judged to be valid, a state change request data is selectively generated according to the designated data, and the designated traffic signal is controlled based on the state change request data.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for applying a certificate suitable for a portable telephone belonging to a user, wherein the portable telephone comprises a telephone number. The method comprises steps of generating a user key pair in the portable telephone, wherein the key pair comprises a user public key information and then transmitting an applying packet from the portable telephone to a certificate authority through a switching center by using a short message service, wherein the applying packet comprises at least the user public key information. The user is verified according to the telephone number received by the certificate authority from the switching center. A certificate packet is generated by the certificate authority, wherein the certificate packet comprises at least a serial number and a certificate authority signature. The certificate packet is transmitted to the portable telephone according to the telephone number by using the short message service.

Abstract: The invention discloses an event announcing system. The event announcing system comprises a portable electrical apparatus, a network, and a server. The portable electrical apparatus comprises an image capturing module, a positioning module, a time module, and a processing module. When the image capturing module captures an image information related to an event, the positioning module receives a positioning information and the time module receives a time information. The processing module is used for generating an announcing signal according to the image information, the positioning information, and the time information. When the server receives the announcing signal via the network, the server validates the announcing signal according to a validating rule and selectively generates an event report according to the announcing signal.
