摘要： A scanning apparatus for scanning a sheet as the sheet is transported in a substantially vertical transport direction. The scanning apparatus includes a scan housing; first, second, and third couplings; and a transport apparatus. The scan housing supports an optical scanning apparatus. The second and third couplings allow at least two degrees of rotation of the scan housing with respect to a horizontal axis and constrain movement of the scan housing in a substantially vertical transport direction. The transport apparatus is coupled to the scan housing for guiding the sheet past the scan housing in the substantially vertical transport direction.

摘要： A storage phosphor cassette comprising a shell including upper and lower rectangular panels, first and second side members, and a front end member, the side members and the front end member joining the upper and lower panels to form a five sided cavity having an open end; wherein the lower panel includes a segment at the open end, the segment formed of folded over stainless steel having latch cars cut into the front edge thereof; a storage phosphor assembly including a back end member, an insert plate having an upper face and being cantilevered from the back end member, and an x-ray storage phosphor disposed on the upper face of the insert plate, wherein the storage phosphor assembly is removably contained in the shell such that the back end member closes off the open end of the shell; wherein the insert plate is rectangular with front, back, and side edges , and is formed of a rigid composite having upper and lower aluminum skins and an aluminum honeycomb core, the core having recesses along the front, back, and side edges; wherein the back end member extends into the back recess, the composite being secured to the back end member; wherein the insert plate includes side inserts which are secured in the side recesses of the composite, which are interlocked at their back ends with the back end member, and which extend slightly beyond the upper and lower skins of the composite to form a bumper system to absorb and distribute forces away from the composite to the back end member, and further includes a front insert secured in the front recess of the composite.

摘要： A radiation imaging cassette. The cassette includes a housing, a latch member, and guide edges. The housing is adapted to house a stimulable phosphor sheet. The rigid plate is adapted to be removably contained within the cavity of the shell and is also comprised of a material which is optically and/or radiographically transparent. A single storage phosphor screen is supported on one side of the substantially rigid plate such that both surfaces of the storage phosphor screen are optically and/or radiographically visible. In a preferred embodiment, the rigid plate can be comprised of one or more layers of clear acrylic, or at least one layer of glass disposed intermediate two layers of clear acrylic.

摘要： A storage phosphor reader includes a multicassette autoloader for vertically oriented storage phosphor cassettes, the autoloader having a front, back, and opposite sides. The autoloader includes an input bin for receiving multiple vertically oriented storage phosphor cassettes stacked together in face-to-face contact such that the cassette faces face front and back; wherein each of the cassettes contains a storage phosphor which is removable from said cassette; an output bin located beside but spaced from the input bin; and a storage phosphor read location at which a storage phosphor is removed from and replaced in a cassette positioned at the storage phosphor read location; wherein the storage phosphor read location is located at the back of the autoloader and located in a path in line with the backs of the input bin and the output bin.
