摘要: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for characterizing a target system. A query is sent. The query includes an ontology of interest, a predicate, and a scoring algorithm. The predicate describes a membership qualification for a node in the ontology of interest. A response is received comprising a score. The score represents an evaluation of the predicate to metadata associated with the target system. The score represents how well the metadata matches the ontology of interest.

摘要: An Internet radio station program discovery service is provided. In general, the discovery service subscribes to or downloads a number of Internet radio station programs. For each radio station program, the discovery service analyzes audio content of the radio station program to dynamically categorize the radio station program over time. The discovery service also enables users to discover radio station programs of interest based on the dynamic categorizations of the radio station programs. The users may be enabled to search for radio station programs of interest based on the dynamic categorizations of the radio station programs, navigate or browse the radio station programs based on the dynamic categorizations of the radio station programs, or the like.

摘要: A system and method for collaboratively providing configurations for a media environment are provided. In general, configuration events from a number of media environments are collected and provided to a Collaborative Configuration System (CCS) server. Based on the configuration events, the CCS server generates and provides recommended configurations to a media environment. The recommended configurations may be generated prior to or after receiving a request for recommended configurations from the media environment. In one embodiment, the recommended configurations are provided as a recommended configuration profile providing a set of configurations to be applied at the media environment. In another embodiment, the recommended configurations are provided as a CCS track associated with a particular media presentation. The CCS track includes configuration changes to be applied to the media environment for a number of time slices of the media presentation during playback of the media presentation.

摘要: A redundant hybrid peer-to-peer content sharing system is provided. In general, the system includes a proxy hosted by a central server and, for each user, a primary user device hosting a primary sharing engine and one or more secondary user devices hosting secondary sharing engines. The user's shared images are hosted by the primary user device, and, based on the capabilities of the secondary user devices, versions of the shared images are copied to the secondary devices. When a guest at a guest node desires to view a shared image, a request for the shared image is provided to the proxy. Generally, if the primary user device is online, the proxy forwards the request to the primary device. If the primary user device is offline, the proxy identifies one of the secondary user devices capable of serving the request and forwards the request to the identified secondary user device.

摘要: A system and method for automatically configuring a content capture device according to a configuration profile for a desired service are provided. In general, the user of the content capture device registers for one or more services. Thereafter, in one embodiment, the user of the content capture device selects one of a desired service prior to content capture. In another embodiment, the desired service is selected based on contextual information obtained by the content capture device. Once the desired service is selected, the content capture device obtains a configuration profile for the desired service. The configuration profile includes required or suggested configurations for the content capture device when capturing content to be distributed to the desired service. The content capture device performs an auto-configuration process based on the configuration profile. Once the content capture device is configured, content captured by the content capture device is distributed to the desired service.

摘要: A system and method are provided for creating collaborative content tracks to be presented to a user concurrently with a media presentation such as a movie, an episode of a television series, a song, or the like. Each time a user selects and plays a media presentation, user events describing actions taken by the user while viewing or listening to the media presentation are collected and provided to a Collaborative Content Track (CCT) server. The user events may include user events occurring on a primary media playback system, user events occurring on associated secondary user devices, or a combination thereof. In this manner, the CCT server obtains user events for each of a number of media presentations. Based on the user events, the CCT server may generate CCTs for any one of the media presentations to be presented to a user concurrently with the media presentation.

摘要: A system and method are provided for accessing and managing information, or metadata, describing content residing on a number of agent devices. In general, the system includes a central node and a number of agent devices communicatively coupled by a network. In operation, the central node communicates with the agent devices to obtain content information describing content stored at the agent devices and optionally the locations of the agent devices from the agent devices. The content information and optionally the locations of the agent devices are stored in a database associated with the central node. Thereafter, the central node enables requesting nodes such as the agent devices to access the database. In addition or alternatively, the central node may provide automatic alerts to the agent devices when other agent devices matching specified criteria are available.

摘要: A system and method for third-party discovery of proximity-based services are provided. In general, a mobile device of a proximity user collects service metadata or information from service providers within its proximity via, for example, local wireless communication. The service metadata is then published to one or more third-party users. More specifically, in one embodiment, the mobile device provides the service metadata to a service discovery system. In response, the service discovery system provides the service metadata or some representation thereof to a client device of a third-party user subscribed to the service metadata. The third-party user may then be enabled to generate a service request. For example, if the service metadata is an advertisement, the third-party user may generate a service request that is provided either directly or indirectly to the mobile device asking that the advertised product or service be purchased on behalf of the third-party user.
