Abstract:
The present invention is directed to, among other things, a grinding and impeller clip for attaching to a wheel assembly mounted for rotational motion within a grinding chamber of a coal pulverizer, wherein the clip has an arcuate cross sectional profile and a protective layer on its upper surface.
Abstract:
An attachment for a telescopic material handler supplies five degrees of freedom (DOF) for the task of picking, manipulating and aiding in the installation of vertical and horizontal wall cladding and other construction materials. The cladding can be of a size up to 1.3×8.0 m and a mass of 350 kg. The control and positioning of the load is accomplished through standard operation of the telehandler in conjunction with wireless control of the five DOF of the device. Hydraulic power for the device functions may be supplied through the telehandler auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary flow also powers a hydraulic generator, which supplies the device with electrical power for both system logic and control and vacuum generation. The cladding panels are handled by the vacuum system.
Abstract:
An emergency eyewash station is disclosed. The eyewash station includes a body portion and a reservoir contained within the body portion. The reservoir contains eyewash fluid and has a filling port with a sealed membrane thereon. An actuator assembly is connected to the body portion and is movable between an armed position and an actuated position. The actuator assembly has a dispensing structure thereon. A piercing mechanism is positioned adjacent to the membrane of the reservoir and has a movable piercing element configured to puncture the membrane when the actuator assembly is activated. Activating the actuator assembly puts the dispensing structure in fluid connection with the reservoir when the piercing element pierces the membrane. In an alternative embodiment, the reservoir is configured to be impaled upon the piercing element upon activation.
Abstract:
A medical needle shield apparatus is provided that includes a needle hub having an outer needle cannula extending therefrom. An inner needle is disposed for slidable movement with the outer needle cannula. At least one shield is extensible from a retracted position to an extended position to enclose a distal end of the inner needle. The shield includes a binding member disposed within the shield and defines binding surfaces that form an aperture configured for slidable receipt of the inner needle. The binding member includes a binding member reset surface aligned with a hub reset surface for engagement therewith to allow reuse of a shielded needle apparatus.
Abstract:
A sensor involving a housing having a lower orifice to which a primary hose is connected. A secondary hose inside the primary hose is slightly shorter than the primary hose, with these hoses being placed inside a bin for determining fill level. One of two upper orifices in the housing is connected to a supply of air under pressure, with this air normally caused to flow outwardly from one of the hoses. Upon the degree of the fill of the bin being such that the material approaches the remote end of one of the hoses, the air normally flowing from the one hose is caused to be deflected into the remote end of the other of the hoses, causing a pressure increase. This pressure increase is directed through the other upper orifice, for being sensed at remotely located pressure sensing equipment.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for displaying available menu choices in a multimodal browser including presenting a user a plurality of GUI menu fields; selecting one of the plurality of GUI menu fields; and displaying, in a GUI display box for the plurality of GUI menu fields, menu choices for the selected GUI menu field.
Abstract:

Selecting a voice personality for the multimodal application may also include retrieving a user profile and selecting a voice personality for the multimodal application in dependence upon the user profile. Selecting a voice personality for the multimodal application may also include retrieving a sponsor profile and selecting a voice personality for the multimodal application in dependence upon the sponsor profile. Selecting a voice personality for the multimodal application may also include retrieving a system profile and selecting a voice personality for the multimodal application in dependence upon the system profile.
Abstract:
Exemplary methods, systems, and products are disclosed for synchronizing visual and speech events in a multimodal application, including receiving from a user speech; determining a semantic interpretation of the speech; calling a global application update handler; identifying, by the global application update handler, an additional processing function in dependence upon the semantic interpretation; and executing the additional function. Typical embodiments may include updating a visual element after executing the additional function. Typical embodiments may include updating a voice form after executing the additional function. Typical embodiments also may include updating a state table after updating the voice form. Typical embodiments also may include restarting the voice form after executing the additional function.
Abstract:
There is disclosed herein a method of connecting together at least two workpieces (30, 32) using a blind rivet (10), which comprises the steps of biasing a blind side end face of a blind rivet (10) against a workpiece (30) and subsequently effecting rotation (41) of the blind rivet (10) whilst in abutment with the workpiece (30) to create a heat weakened region of the workpiece through which the blind rivet (10) can subsequently be inserted by a biasing force less than a biasing force normally required to effect piercing of the workpiece (30, 32) by such a blind rivet (10).
Abstract:
A flow verifier for verifying measurement of a flow rate of a fluid by a device includes a flow restrictor that renders the flow rate verification substantially insensitive to elements upstream of the flow restrictor. The flow verifier includes a vessel that receives a flow of the fluid from the device, and a pressure sensor that measures pressure of the fluid within the vessel. An outlet valve regulates flow of the fluid out of the vessel. The flow restrictor is located adjacent to and upstream of the vessel, along a flow path of the fluid. The flow restrictor restricts the flow of the fluid so as to induce a shock in the flow path of the fluid, and sustains the shock during a time period sufficient to render the flow rate verification substantially insensitive to the elements upstream of the flow restrictor.
