摘要: A method for calculating an infusion rate in a drip chamber includes: providing a housing that receives a fluid, the housing received the fluid at a distal end and expels the fluid at a proximal end, the housing includes a reference mark; receiving, at the proximal end of the housing, a flow controller rotatably coupled to the housing, the flow controller includes an aperture extending therethrough; rotating the flow controller relative to the housing such that the aperture prevents the fluid from traveling therethrough; and determining the infusion rate by measuring a time elapsed until the fluid reaches the reference mark in the housing.

摘要: Method and system for determining the real-time flow into a wastewater pump station using analog level sensing technologies. An Accurate Level Generator mechanism supplies an accurate mean value out of multiple readings for each level used to calculate the volume between levels. Two consecutive levels are used to calculate the volume between them using an Accurate Flow Calculator and the time it took to get from one level to the other. A Real Time Inflow Calculator adds results regarding the pumps in operation and overflow events, which are ways for the water to exit the pumping station. At a water level approaching where the pumps start or stop, or when abnormal events occur, a Predictive Abnormal Event Adjuster replaces the highly probable abnormal Real Time Inflow Result by a more stable and possible value, which is the last one calculated plus its variation over time.

摘要: Systems and methods for sensing an amount of a liquid in a container are provided. A conduit is provided that has a length positioned relative to a portion of the container where a level of the liquid in the container changes when liquid is added to the container or liquid is removed from the container. The conduit is in fluid communication with the container to therefore allow an amount of the liquid to enter the conduit that is proportional to the amount of the liquid in the container. An outlet is provided along with a valve. The valve is in fluid communication with the conduit and the outlet, where the valve is selectable to allow the amount of liquid in the conduit to pass to the outlet, the amount of liquid passing to the outlet proportional to the amount of liquid in the container.

摘要: Methods and systems for characterizing fluids from a patient are disclosed. The method includes receiving a time series of images of a conduit receiving fluids from the patient, identifying a conduit image region in each of the images, classifying a flow type through the conduit based on an evaluation of the conduit image region in the time series of images, and estimating at least one of a volume of fluids and a quantity of a blood component that has passed through the conduit within a predetermined period of time, based at least in part on the classification of the flow type.

摘要: Techniques determine if a gas service (e.g., piping and/or meter) is undersized for the customer's needs. In one example, flowrate information corresponding to gas usage at a service site over a first period of time is obtained. The flowrate information is disaggregated to determine an expected flowrate associated with each of two or more appliances having generally fixed-rates of gas consumption. Flowrate information is again obtained, corresponding to a second period of time. The second flowrate information is compared to one or more combinations (i.e., summations) of the expected flowrates associated with each of the two or more appliances. Based on the comparison, it may be determined that the service site is not appropriately sized. In an example, failure to detect two fixed-rate of gas-consumption appliances operating at their respective fixed-rates at the same time may indicate that the service cannot provide gas at a sufficient flowrate.

摘要: The present invention pertains to a method and experimental apparatus for studying properties of cement slurry to be used in an oil or gas well under varied pressure and temperature conditions. This apparatus can be used to predict the likelihood of gas migration, compressive strength and static gel strength of cement slurry. It comprises a servo motor and coupling magnets to drive a paddle at a very slow speed through the cement in a pressure vessel, a pair of acoustic transducers to generate an acoustic signal and measure the transit time of the acoustic signal after it transits the cement, and a gas injection system to predict the severity of gas migration in cement.

摘要: A flotation method for recovering valuable metal containing ore particles from ore particles suspended in slurry is disclosed. In the method, the slurry is treated in an at least one overflow flotation cell and the valuable metal containing ore particles are recovered by conducting the continuous upwards flow of slurry out of the at least one overflow flotation cell as slurry overflow. At least part of the slurry overflow is conducted to a further treatment step in a treatment system.
