摘要: A portable sheet bending brake has a support frame with spaced longitudinally extending rails and a plurality of frame sections interconnecting the rails. A clamp member is carried by the lower arms of the frame sections, and an anvil member is carried by arms pivotally coupled to the upper arms of the frame sections. A bend member is pivotally mounted to the clamp member for bending over the anvil member sheet material clamped between the anvil and base members. A pair of longitudinally spaced handles are pivotally mounted to the bend member for pivoting into a channel on the bend member out of position to facilitate transport and storage of the brake. A shaft extends between bearings on the frame section arms, and has diametrically opposed longitudinally extending channels. Eccentric cams are received on the shaft, with diametrically opposed lugs received in the channels for automatically timing the cams with respect to the shaft, for pivoting the arms and the anvil member into clamping engagement with the base member. A stand supports the frame above the ground, and a table is mounted to the stand by four-bar linkages for movement between a lowered position beneath the brake and a raised position adjacent to the bend member while maintaining horizontal orientation of the table.

摘要: A T-bolt assembly having a first elongated stud with a cross bar at one end adapted to be positioned within the T-slot of a machine table and externally threaded at its other end. A second elongated stud is externally threaded at both ends while an internally threaded collar threadably engages the external threads on the first stud and one end of the second stud when the studs are axially aligned and adjacent each other. A non circular projection extends axially outwardly from one end of one stud and is received within a like shaped recess on the end of the other stud to prevent the studs from rotation relative to each other.

摘要: An elongated approximately C-shaped frame with a handle portion above an elongated hand hole has downwardly-projecting arms depending from its forward and rearward ends. The forward arm is bifurcated by being keyhole-slotted vertically into a pair of laterally-spaced L-shaped fingers which straddle the spike and the tubular spacer surrounding it within the gutter. The rearward depending arm is provided with an impact abutment for receiving hammer blows during use. A strengthening rib extending along the body between the depending portions imparts rigidity to the frame. In the first stage of its use, the forward depending arm is moved over the top of the gutter and dropped around the tubular spacer, then pulled toward the user until the flat ends of the fingers engage the inner surface of the outer gutter wall directly beneath the spike. A hammer blow on the abutment on the rearward arm pulls spike, spacer and gutter bodily a short distance away from the building wall to which they are attached. Thereupon the device is lifted out of the gutter, which is then pushed back toward the building wall to space the head of the spike and the adjacent portion of its shank away from the forward wall of the gutter. The forward arm of the device is then dropped around this projecting portion of the spike and pulled backward against its head, whereupon hammer blows against the abutment cause the spike to be pulled completely out of the gutter and tubular spacer, which drops into the gutter.

摘要: To bend sheet metal through a wide angle into an acute angle, this bending brake has a foundation carrying a stationary workpiece-clamping structure including multiple J-shaped stationary workpiece-clamping jaw supports disposed in spaced parallel relationship and carrying an elongated stationary workpiece-clamping jaw. The upper portion of each such support terminates in a U-shaped cam thrust abutment engaged by an eccentric movable-jaw-operating cam operatively secured to a common composite cam shaft journaled in multiple movable workpiece-clamping jaw arms with downwardly-curved rearward end portions pivotally mounted at their rearward ends upon pivot bolts carried by the upwardly-curved rearward end portions of the stationary supports. Secured to and extending between the forward ends of these arms is a movable workpiece-clamping jaw of wedge-shaped cross-section and having a forward bending edge disposed immediately above the stationary workpiece-clamping jaw and also immediately above a so-called piano hinge which pivotally supports an elongated workpiece-bending structure movable upward and downward by one or more handles. Operatively connected to the composite cam shaft adjacent the stationary supports are the inner ends of handle arms disposed in spaced parallel relationship and connected at their outer ends to a common cam-operating handle bar which, when swung forward and rearward, rotates the cams against their respective thrust abutments to move the clamping arms upward and downward so as to move the movable clamping jaw toward and away from the stationary workpiece-clamping jaw.

摘要: A sheet bending brake comprising a first longitudinally extending member having a clamping surface, a clamping member movable toward and away from the clamping surface for holding a workpiece in position for bending and a second member extending longitudinally with respect to said first member. Each of the first and second members have substantially the entire length of the longitudinal edges thereof formed with longitudinally spaced intermeshing integral projections, the projections on the second member having a plurality of aligned openings and the projections on the first member having a plurality of aligned openings comprising slots extending axially with respect to the longitudinal axis of said member. A hinge pin extends through the openings of the second member and the slots of the first member. The second member has a workpiece contacting portion spaced from the projections. The slots have a configuration such that as the second member is moved relative to said first member to bend a workpiece, the hinge pin is guided along said slots such that the contacting portion of said second member remains substantially in the same position relative to the workpiece.

摘要: The present invention provides a fastener assembly for use with a machine table having a work supporting surface and at least one elongated T-slot formed in the table and opened to the surface. The fastener assembly includes an elongated stud threaded at one end and a cross member secured transversely across its other end. This cross member is dimensioned to that it is insertable into the T-slot and thereafter rotatable within the wider portion of the T-slot. The fastener assembly further includes a U-shaped collar having an opening in its base through which the stud is slidably received. The collar is slid over the stud and into the T-slot whereupon the legs of the collar are positioned on opposite sides of the cross member and thus prevent rotation of the cross member. In a second embodiment, a square shoulder is formed above the cross member which fits within the narrow portion of the T-slot to prevent rotation of the stud while a spring carried by the cross member urges the shoulder upwardly and into the narrower portion of the slot.

摘要: A sheet metal bending brake having a frame with a sheet metal support surface. A clamping jaw is movable relative to the frame support surface to clamp the sheet metal between the clamping jaw and the frame. The clamping jaw has a linear front edge. An elongated bending arm is pivotally mounted to the frame by an elongated flexible strap having spaced apart edges. One edge of the strap is secured to the bending arm while the other edge of the strap is secured to the frame such that the bending arm extends parallel to and closely adjacent the clamping jaw front edge.

摘要: A sheet metal bending brake having a frame with a planar work supporting surface and a plurality of spaced frame members extending over the work support surface. Each frame member has a throughbore and these throughbores are aligned with each other. A plurality of elongated pivot arms are pivotally secured at one end to the frame for movement toward and away from the work supporting surface. Each pivot arm also includes a generally rectangular opening aligned with the frame member throughbores. A block is longitudinally slidably mounted in each pivot arm opening and this slide block is constrained against movement in a direction perpendicular to the work support surface. Each block furthermore includes a trapezoidal opening with spaced apart and parallel top and bottom surfaces and outwardly flared side surfaces. An elongated shaft extends through and is rotatably mounted to the frame member throughbores and this shaft also extends through the trapezoidal openings in the pivot arms. A plurality of eccentric cams are secured to the shaft so that one cam is associated with and positioned within each trapezoidal opening. This cam is dimensioned so that the cam contacts the outwardly flared side surfaces of its associated slide block regardless of the rotational position. Pivotal movement of the shaft thus displaces the pivot arms in a direction generally perpendicular to the work support surface due to the coaction of the eccentric cams with the side surfaces of the slide blocks.
