Abstract: To improve identifiability of optical fiber ribbons, an exemplary optical fiber ribbon of the invention includes: at least three optical fibers arranged side by side; and a plurality of connection parts that each connect two adjacent ones of the optical fibers, the connection parts being provided intermittently in a length direction of the optical fibers and in a width direction of the optical fibers. A marking for identifying the optical fiber ribbon is provided to each optical fiber. The position, in the circumferential direction, of the marking provided to at least one of the optical fibers is different from the position, in the circumferential direction, of the marking provided to another optical fiber.

Abstract: An optical fiber cable includes a core that includes an assembled plurality of optical fibers; an inner sheath that accommodates the core therein, a pair of tension members that are embedded in the inner sheath and that are disposed on opposite sides of the core, and an outer sheath that covers the inner sheath. The inner sheath is formed with a dividing portion that divides an inner peripheral surface and an outer peripheral surface of the inner sheath in a circumferential direction. The dividing portion extends along a longitudinal direction in which the optical fiber cable extends.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an intermittently-fixed optical fiber ribbon includes: collectively coating a plurality of optical fibers with a coating material by applying an uncured coating material that intrudes between the plurality of optical fibers and curing the intruded uncured coating material; and cutting the coating material positioned between the plurality of optical fibers at a predetermined interval in a longitudinal direction of the optical fibers with a plurality of rotary blades disposed side by side in a width direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, while delivering the collectively-coated optical fibers at a velocity V1 in the longitudinal direction. The velocity V1 is greater than a peripheral velocity V2 of the plurality of rotary blades.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an optical fiber ribbon where adjacent optical fibers are intermittently connected in a length direction includes: feeding the optical fibers along the length direction; and intermittently applying a resin in the length direction by: rotating, between adjacent ones of the optical fibers, a rotating member having a recess, and blocking the resin with a peripheral edge part of the rotating member where the recess is not formed. A moving speed, in the length direction, of the peripheral edge part at a position where the peripheral edge part blocks the resin between the optical fibers is slower than a feeding speed of the optical fibers.

Abstract: An optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of optical fibers arranged side by side in a width direction. Each of the optical fibers includes a colored section that is colored by an identification color for identifying the optical fiber from the other optical fibers. The respective colored sections of the optical fibers are formed by coloring a portion, in a length direction, of the respective optical fibers according to a common pattern.
