The passage mining engine groups similar passages into groups based on degree of similarity or other criteria. A user interface is presented that includes hypertext links associated with the similar passages that allow a user to navigate the documents.

摘要： The present invention provides a system and method for automatically combining image and audio data to create a multimedia presentation. In one embodiment, audio and image data are received by the system. The audio data includes a list of events that correspond to points of interest in an audio file. The audio data may also include an audio file or audio stream. The received images are then matched to the audio file or stream using the time. In one embodiment, the events represent times within the audio file or stream at which there is a certain feature or characteristic in the audio file. The audio events list may be processed to remove, sort or predict or otherwise generate audio events. Images processing may also occur, and may include image analysis to determine image matching to the event list, deleting images, and processing images to incorporate effects. Image effects may include cropping, panning, zooming and other visual effects.

摘要： A method and apparatus for generating reminder messages based on a freeform input is disclosed. In one embodiment, freeform inputs are handwritten annotations on paper that are scanned into a computer system. Based on information contained in the freeform input, the system creates a reminder message and transmits it in response to a time reference contained in the freeform input. In an alternative embodiment, freeform digital ink inputs may be directly entered into a pen computer system via a stylus. Reminder messages may be delivered over a computer display, facsimile device, via email, telephone or portable paging device.

摘要： The present invention describes a method for superimposing prespecified locational, environmental, and contextual controls on user interactions, including interactions of mobile users, with computational resources. A system is described for electronically monitoring contextual information concerning users and machines, including state and locational information including proximity. Interaction policies, including user specified interaction policies, may be registered on an identifiable address path. Methods are described for detecting, selecting and controlling computercontrolled devices, based on the proximity of the device to the user, the current context of the user, the location of other nearby users and devices, and the current state of the devices. Temporary transfer of control, including exclusive control, of particular computers and computer controlled devices to individual users based on the context and environment in proximity to those computing devices is also described.

摘要： A method searches a set of information using a computer. The method generates a set of search results based on a search query. Then, without further user input, the method generates a set of candidate facets, where each of the candidate facets can be used to select a subset of the search results. The method ranks the candidate facets in accordance with selectivity of the candidate facets and selects a plurality of facets from among the candidate facets for presentation to the user. The selection is in accordance with the rankings of the candidate facets. The method formats the presentation facets for display to the user. In response to user selection of a presentation facet, the method generates a revised search query comprising the original search query and the selected presentation facet, and generates a revised set of search results based on the revised search query.
