Abstract:
Systems and methods modifying a presentation of media content in response to a detected violation are provided. In particular, media content such as a media stream broadcasted by a user to other users can be monitored. The broadcasted media stream can be fingerprinted and compared to a fingerprint repository that includes entries associated with media content that is copyrighted or otherwise considered a violation. If the fingerprint matches entries included in the fingerprint repository, then the media stream can be modified such as modified to terminate.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for detecting when a video stream embedded within a region of another video stream contains copyrighted material. In one implementation, a computer system receives a first video stream and determines that the first video stream comprises a second video stream within a region of the first video stream, using metadata that identifies a set of geometric properties of the region. The computer system obtains the second video stream from the first video stream based on the set of geometric properties of the region, and determines whether the second video stream contains copyrighted material.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for identifying representative media items are provided herein. In particular, users can upload media items to a system. The media items can be matched to reference media items. Candidate representative media items can be selected from matching media items. Representative media items can be selected, from the candidate representative media items, to represent partially matching media items.
Abstract:
The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a method that includes receiving, by a processing device, one or more first content items for one or more first user accounts of a content sharing system. The method further includes storing the first content items at the content sharing system. The method further includes receiving, by the processing device, a second content item for a second user account of the content sharing system. The method further includes comparing, by the processing device, the received second content item to the stored first content items to determine that the second content item is not exclusive to the second user account. The method further includes restricting a privilege of the second user account for the second content item in response to the determination that the second content item is not exclusive to the second user account.
Abstract:
A system and computer program product are provided for improving the utility of video recommendations in a content system via de-duplication of highly similar thumbnail images. For each video added to an online content system, a thumbnail image is generated and stored. For each such thumbnail image a compressed representation is computed. During playback of a video, a set of related videos is generated. For each video in the set, the corresponding thumbnail image and its compressed representation are retrieved. A measure of visual distance is computed for each pair in the set of representations, and measures indicating excess similarity are identified. Similarity is reduced via selective removal of some of the representations. An identification of the thumbnail images and videos corresponding to the remaining representations is produced.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for identifying duplicate media items in a media system are provided. In particular, media content can be uploaded to a serve. The media content can be fingerprinted. A digest is generated based on the fingerprint. The digest is indexed and potential matching media items are identified. Matches are determined from the potential matching media items.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for classifying media items in a media system are provided. In particular, media items can be uploaded to a serve. Data describing the media items can be monitored. Alterations of data describing the media items or inconsistencies of the data describing can be detected. A corrective action can be determined based on the alterations and or the inconsistencies. The corrective action can manage media items in multiple classification systems.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for determining a likelihood and degree of derivation among media content items. In one example, a processing device processes a first media content item in relation to one or more other media content items to identify one or more similarities between the first media content item and one or more other media content items. The processing device determines, based on an identification of the one or more similarities between the first media content item and one or more other media content items, one or more derivation metrics with respect to the first media content item and one or more other media content items. The processing device initiates, based on a determination of the one or more derivation metrics, one or more actions with respect to the first media content item and/or one or more other media content items.
Abstract:
Systems and methods promoting an authoritative version (AVR) of copyrighted media content over one or more non-authoritative versions of the copyrighted media content relative to relevancy of the copyrighted media content to a search query are presented. An example system includes a matching component configured to identify copyrighted media content included in a video and a promoting component configured to promote in connection with a search query an authoritative version of the copyrighted media content over one or more non-authoritative versions of the copyrighted media content relative to relevancy of the copyrighted media content to the search query
