Abstract:
A computer at a content management system receives a first digital content item from a content provider. The computer matches the first digital content item to each of a plurality of reference digital content items in a database. The system determines a plurality of match metrics from the matches. Each match metric is indicative of a similarity between the first digital content item and one of the plurality of reference digital content items. Responsive to one of the match metrics being greater than a threshold level, the system sets a content age of the first digital content item to equal a content age of a reference digital content item associated with the match metric. Responsive to none of the match metrics being greater than the threshold, the system sets the content age of the first digital content item to a time of receiving the first digital content item.
Abstract:
The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a method that includes receiving, by a processing device, one or more first content items for one or more first user accounts of a content sharing system. The method further includes storing the first content items at the content sharing system. The method further includes receiving, by the processing device, a second content item for a second user account of the content sharing system. The method further includes comparing, by the processing device, the received second content item to the stored first content items to determine that the second content item is not exclusive to the second user account. The method further includes restricting a privilege of the second user account for the second content item in response to the determination that the second content item is not exclusive to the second user account.

Abstract:
Systems and methods promoting an authoritative version (AVR) of copyrighted media content over one or more non-authoritative versions of the copyrighted media content relative to relevancy of the copyrighted media content to a search query are presented. An example system includes a matching component configured to identify copyrighted media content included in a video and a promoting component configured to promote in connection with a search query an authoritative version of the copyrighted media content over one or more non-authoritative versions of the copyrighted media content relative to relevancy of the copyrighted media content to the search query.
Abstract:
A system receives a subject video. The system identifies dynamic segments and semi-static segments within the subject video. The system determines matches between the dynamic segments of the subject video and reference dynamic segments of reference videos. Similarly, the system determines matches between the semi-static segments of the subject video and reference semi-static segments of reference videos. The system generates the match merge list including one or more entries. Each entry of the match merge list includes an indication of a grouped segment of the subject video including sequential occurrences of a dynamic segment and a semi-static segment of the subject video, and an indication of a reference grouped segment of a reference video including sequential occurrences of a reference dynamic segment and a reference semi-static segment of the reference video, where the reference dynamic segment matches the dynamic segment and the reference semi-static segment matches the semi-static segment.
Abstract:
A media sharing system identifies fingerprints that represent an uploaded video and generates a digest based on the fingerprints. The media sharing system searches for digests of previously processed videos whose digests match the digest of the uploaded video. A previously processed video whose digest matches the digest of the uploaded video is identified as a matching video. For each matching video, the media sharing system retrieves policy information that describes whether the video was found to violate one or more policies of the media sharing system. The media sharing system determines whether to halt processing of the uploaded video based on the retrieved policy information.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for determining a likelihood and degree of derivation among media content items. In one implementation, a processing device processes a first media content item in relation to one or more other media content items to identify one or more similarities between the first media content item and one or more other media content items. The processing device determines, based on an identification of the one or more similarities between the first media content item and one or more other media content items, one or more derivation metrics with respect to the first media content item and one or more other media content items. The processing device initiates, based on a determination of the one or more derivation metrics, one or more actions with respect to at least one of (a) the first media content item or (b) one or more other media content items.

Abstract:
A system and method for identifying unauthorized uploaded content that has been uploaded before a validated live reference stream has been ingested is disclosed herein. The live reference stream is compared against the indexed uploaded content repeatedly as the live reference stream is received. The matching process is done once per a time period until a match meeting a minimum match duration threshold is identified. The match is then determined to be unauthorized, and a claim is issued against the unauthorized uploaded content. The time period can be based on a utility based analysis that factors the computational costs of repeated matching versus the diminishing value of the live reference stream as time progresses.
