Abstract: This application describes a data transmission method, a terminal device, and a network device. The method may include determining, by a terminal device, a reporting type of channel state information (CSI), where the reporting type is used to indicate a relationship between CSI of a beam that is currently reported by the terminal device and CSI of a beam that is previously reported by the terminal device in a current reporting period. The method may also include sending, by the terminal device, CSI of N beams to a network device based on a reporting type and a codebook parameter, where the codebook parameter is used to indicate a quantity N of the currently reported beams, and N is an integer greater than or equal to 1. According to the data transmission method, the terminal device, and the network device described in the embodiments of this application, CSI reporting flexibility can be improved, thereby improving system performance.

Abstract: A radio access node (RAN) and method of operation of the RAN are provided. The RAN includes a massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna array. The RAN includes a processing hardware configured to carry out a communication method that includes receiving a digital data stream for transmission on a time-frequency resource. The RAN precodes the digital data stream using a digital beamforming stage to render a precoded digital downlink data stream for downlink data stream signal transmission to a user equipment. The digital beamforming stage includes a first precoding stage configured according to a long-term matrix, and a second precoding stage configured according to a short-term matrix. Abstract: The present invention discloses an inter-base station beam configuration and management method, a base station, user equipment, and a system. The method includes: receiving, by user equipment, a beam signal sent by a base station; determining, by the user equipment, a receive beam based on the sent beam signal; receiving, by the base station, a beam signal sent by a terminal device; determining, by the base station, a receive beam based on the sent beam signal; performing dynamic selection and fast beam switching between base stations in combination with a coordinated multi-point technology; and performing fast beam alignment between the base station end with the user equipment end. This application can effectively implement fast beam switching and alignment between base stations and support dynamic base station selection, thereby improving link reliability.
