摘要: A print control device includes a two-step print head, a print data assignment control section and a transportation control section. The two-step print head includes a plurality of printing elements of plural colors for performing color printing. The printing elements are divided into upper printing elements and lower printing elements for each different color separated by a boundary line. The print data assignment control section assigns print data of each color to the upper printing elements and the lower printing elements beginning adjacent the boundary line. The transportation control section controls a transportation amount of a printing medium in accordance with the number of the printing elements to which the print data is assigned.

摘要: A media processing device does not execute a media transportation process if the height of media stacked in a media storage unit is at an over capacity level, and reliably prevents problems such as damage to the media transportation mechanism caused by collision with the stacked media. If in the media processing device 200 the height of media stacked in a media storage unit 121, 122 is at a full stack level or over capacity level (step S33 returns yes or step S35 returns yes), an appropriate warning is output (step S34 or step S36) and collision accidents of the media transportation mechanism 131 can be prevented.

摘要: The media storage status of a target medium stacker is reported to the user through a host computer. In response to a height measurement command for measuring the height of blank media stacked in a blank media stacker and processed media stacked in a processed media stacker, a height measurement step measures the height of blank media and processed media based on operation of the media transportation arm, and a measurement transmission step sends the measurement acquired in the height measurement step to the host computer in response to a measurement transmission request from the host computer.

摘要: A media processing device and a control method therefor separate the control unit that detects state changes and the control unit that controls executing processes according to a state change. The media processing device has a label printer 11 that prints to the label side of media, media stackers 21 and 22 that store media, a media transportation mechanism 31 that transports media to the label printer 11 and the media stackers 21 and 22, an automatic loader control unit 102 that controls the label printer 11 and the media transportation mechanism 31, and a main control unit 101 that sends control commands to the automatic loader control unit. The control method involves the automatic loader control unit 102 converting a state change in the label printer 11 or the media transportation mechanism 31 to a status signal and sending the status signal to the main control unit 101, and the main control unit 101 interpreting the received status report and executing a process corresponding to the result.
