    Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may modulate, based on a number of uplink control bits, a first sequence or the first sequence and a second sequence. The WTRU may spread the first sequence and the second sequence with a complementary sequence pair, concatenate parts of the first sequence and the second sequence in interlaced resource blocks (RBs), and perform an inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) on the interlaced parts. The WTRU may transmit on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) a signal outputted by the IDFT.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing pulse shaping using different windowing functions for different sub-bands of a transmission is disclosed. A method for use in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may include the WTRU receiving data symbols. The WTRU may assign the data symbols to a plurality of subcarriers in different sub-bands and map the data symbols on each of the plurality of subcarriers in the different sub-bands to a plurality of corresponding subcarriers of an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) block. The WTRU may take an IFFT of the block for each sub-band and pad an output of the IFFT block with a prefix and a postfix for each sub-band. The WTRU may apply a windowing function to an output of the padding for each sub-band and form a composite signal for transmission by adding an output of the windowing of each sub-band. The WTRU may transmit the signal.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for physical (PHY) layer multiplexing of different types of traffic in 5G systems. A device may receive a communication. The communication may include a first traffic type. The device may monitor the communication for an indication that the communication includes a second traffic type that is multiplexed with and/or punctures the first traffic type. An indicator received in the communication and detected by the monitoring may indicate where the second traffic type is located in the communication. The first traffic type and the second traffic type may be multiplexed at a resource element (RE) level. For example, a first traffic type may be punctured by a second traffic type at the RE level. The device may de code one or more of the first or second traffic types in the communication based on the indication.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and systems directed to complementary sequence (CS) encoding and encoded CS transmissions are provided. Among the apparatuses is apparatus having a transmitter that may be configured to (i) transmit an encoded CS via a block based, e.g., orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), waveform, and/or (ii) generate the encoded CS using a plurality of seed sequences and a plurality of information items, wherein: of the elements of the encoded CS encodes a first set of the plurality of information items; (b) phases of the encoded-CS elements encode a second set of the plurality of information items); and (c) the encoded-CS elements define a number of zeros that encode a third set of the plurality of information items. The encoded-CS elements may define respective numbers of zeros that collectively form the number of zeros that encode the third information-item set.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for efficient and robust handling of acknowledgements in new radio unlicensed bands (NR-U) environments. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may receive control information and a data transmission from a gNB in a first interval (i.e., transport block or channel occupancy time), wherein the control information may include an indication of uplink resources. The data transmission may require some sort of acknowledgement (i.e., HARQ feedback). The WTRU may attempt to transmit the acknowledgement in the indicated uplink resources, but the gNB may not receive the acknowledgement. The WTRU may receive control information and a data transmission from the gNB in a second interval, including an indication to aggregate any previously unsuccessful acknowledgement transmissions. The WTRU may transmit an aggregated acknowledgement including previous unsuccessful acknowledgements and any additional acknowledgements from the current interval. In some cases, look-before-talk procedures may be used.

    Abstract: A method for transmitting a discrete fourier transform (DFT) DFT-S-OFDM signal including frequency domain reference symbols is disclosed. The method comprises: determining to null a plurality of data symbols prior to DFT-spreading; performing DFT-spreading including the determined null data symbols; puncturing an interleaved output of the DFT-spreading; inserting reference symbols in a frequency domain of the punctured and interleaved DFT-S-OFDM signal; and transmitting the DFT-S-OFDM signal with inserted reference symbols to a receiver. The transmitted DFT-S-OFDM signal enables the receiver to apply zeros corresponding to the reference symbols to an interleaved input of DFT-despreading, and cancel interference due to the puncturing by using all outputs of the DFT-despreading.
