    Abstract: In general, encoding or decoding image information can involve processing a signal including image information based on determining a block of spatial-domain values for a prediction residual; replacing in a set of multiple transforms at least one first transform matrix with at least one second transform matrix and/or adding at least one second transform matrix to said set of multiple transforms; transforming the block of spatial-domain values using said second transform matrix; and encoding or decoding at least a portion of the image information based on the transforming of the block of spatial-domain values.

    Abstract: Different implementations are described for determining one or more illumination compensation parameters for a current block being encoded by a video encoder or decoded by a video decoder. A plurality of motion vectors for a current block being encoded in a picture are determined. One or more illumination compensation parameters for each of the plurality of motion vectors are determined and encoded or decoded. The current block is then encoded or decoded using the plurality of motion vectors and the one or more illumination compensation parameters for each of the plurality of motion vectors. In one embodiment, a flag is used to signal the use or not of the illumination compensation. In another embodiment, the illumination compensation flag is not encoded or decoded if illumination compensation is not used.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for intra prediction in video encoding and decoding using a blended intra predictor are described. In one exemplary embodiment, intra prediction is preformed using a blended intra predictor for a pixel of a current block being encoded and decoded. The blended intra predictor is determined by summing with corresponding weights a predictor using the intra prediction direction to be used for the current block and one or more predictors using the one or more corresponding intra prediction directions of the one or more neighboring blocks. The corresponding weights for the one or more neighboring blocks decrease with increased distance of the pixel to the one or more neighboring blocks.

    Abstract: Method and device for generating a stream of data representative of a 3D point cloud. The 3D point cloud is partitioned into a plurality of 3D elementary parts. A set of two-dimensional 2D parametrizations is determined, each 2D parametrization representing one 3D part of the point cloud with a set of parameters. Each 3D part is represented as a 2D pixel image. A depth map and a color map are determined as a first patch atlas and a second patch atlas. A data stream is generated by combining and/or coding the parameters of the 2D parametrization, the first patch atlas, the second patch atlas and mapping information that links each 2D parametrization with its associated depth map and color map in respectively the first and second patch atlas.
