    Abstract: A transponder with a disrupting signal source to shut down the transponder. The transponder may use an RFID chip. The disrupting signal source can be an electrical signal source electrically coupled to the RFID chip, for example capacitively coupled. The disruptive signal source can also be a radiation source, for example an infrared source. The disrupting signal source can be connected to a receiver to allow the transponder to be shut down remotely. Multiple transponders as described can be combined to form a multi-transponder device in which transponders can be shut down selectively.

    Abstract: A method of vehicle movement control includes setting up a weigh station geofence corresponding to a geographic location of a vehicle weigh station and setting up an additional geofence corresponding to the vehicle weigh station. At a central processing system, a first message is received from a mobile wireless device that is being carried in a vehicle. The first message indicates that the vehicle has entered the weigh station geofence, and includes vehicle related information, vehicle location information, and a bypass request. The method further includes determining by the central processing system whether the vehicle is permitted to bypass the vehicle weigh station, and sending to the mobile wireless device a bypass message from the central processing system indicating whether the vehicle is permitted to bypass the vehicle weigh station.

    Abstract: Magnetometers under the road surface detect variations in the vertical and longitudinal horizontal components of the magnetic field over time in response to passing vehicles. A trajectory of these components in the phase space of these field components is regularized to obtain a magnetic signature. Magnetic signatures are compared using cross-correlation over arc length to identify vehicles. Inductance sensors can be used to detect vehicles and help determine the beginning and end of magnetic signatures.
