Abstract:
A sensor-integrated display panel including an operation surface for performing an input operation and an image display surface which are formed integrally with a sensor as one piece. A data transfer device supplies the sensor-integrated display panel with a drive signal for driving the sensor and outputs sensing data corresponding to a potential of a sensor signal output from the sensor. A contact electrode is provided in a frame formed around the sensor-integrated display panel to vary the potential of the sensor signal when a conductor touches or does not touch to the frame. An application executing device receives and analyzes the sensing data and generates a signal to select an operating function in accordance with an analysis result.

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus, includes a sensor-equipped display device includes a display device and a sensor configured to detect a contact or proximate position, a display driver configured to output an image display signal to the display device and to output a drive signal to the sensor, a detecting circuit configured to generate, based on the information from the sensor, raw data (Raw data) including three-dimensional information of coordinates of a position on the display device and a physical quantity at the coordinates, and an application processor configured to discriminate whether a part of the region in the display area should be further sensed or not, based on the raw data, and if the part of the region is further sensed, to output the range of the display device to be further sensed and the timing of driving the sensor to the display driver.

There is provided a sensor-integrated display device including a display surface from which display information is output and a sensor surface to which operation information is input, the display surface and the sensor surface being formed integrally with the sensor-integrated display device as one piece, a data transfer unit which generates and outputs three-dimensional information (RAW-D) in response to a signal sensed on the sensor surface, and an application executing device having a processing function of generating three-dimensional image data in a plurality of points sensed on the sensor surface, based on the three-dimensional information output from the data transfer unit and computing a touch coordinate, based on the generated image data.
