Abstract: An outer rotor for a brushless motor has an end plate; a shaft fixed to a rotary center of the end plate; and an annular rotor core having one end connected to the end plate. A plurality of connecting bars connect the rotor core to the end plate. Permanent magnets are fixed to an inner surface of the rotor core. The end plate has an outer diameter equal to or less than the outer diameter of the rotor core. The end plate has a base plate, an annular sidewall, and a plurality of fan blades interconnecting the base plate and the sidewall. There are openings between the fan blades. The end plate is insert molded to the shaft and the connecting bars.

Abstract: An electric motor has a stator, a rotor rotatable with respect to the stator, motor windings, a connection plate electrically connected to the motor windings, and a power lead for connecting the motor to a power source. The power lead is connected to the connection plate by an electrical connection and by a separate mechanical connection. The mechanical connection protects the electrical connection from vibration or movement which may otherwise break the electrical connection.

Abstract: A motor driving assembly includes a motor. The motor includes an outer housing, and a rotor and a brush holder received in the outer housing. The rotor includes a rotary shaft extending out of the outer housing. A commutator is fixed on a shaft portion of the rotary shaft within the outer housing. Brushes for contacting the commutator are disposed on the brush holder. A visible identification mark fixed relative to the rotary shaft is disposed outside the outer housing of the motor, such that a relative position between the brushes and the commutator in a rotational direction of the rotary shaft is identifiable by reference to a position of the visible identification mark relative to the outer housing in the rotational direction of the rotary shaft. As such, the commutator can be prevented from stalling at a position where arcing noise may be easily generated.

Abstract: A rotor for an electric motor has a shaft, a rotor core and rotor windings. The rotor core is fixed to the shaft and has a number of teeth. A winding slot is formed between adjacent teeth. The rotor includes a heat sink made of a thermally conductive material. The heat sink includes two annular portions and a plurality of connecting members connecting the two annular portions. The annular portions are located at respective axial ends of the rotor core. The connecting members are disposed in respective winding slots and are thermally connected with the rotor windings.

Abstract: A motor (10) comprises a stator (30) and a rotor (50) configured to rotate inside the stator (30). A heat sink (40) has a base portion (42) disposed around and thermally connected to an outer surface of the stator (30) and a plurality of cooling fins (44) extending from the base portion (42). A centrifugal fan (70) is attached to one end of an output shaft (52) of the rotor (50), positioned such that the heat sink (40) is near an axial end of the fan (70). During operation, the centrifugal fan (70) generates an air flow over the heat sink (40), thus providing cooling for the motor (10).

Abstract: An electric motor has a stator, a shaft and a rotor. The stator has an annular yoke portion; a plurality of stator teeth inwardly extending from the yoke portion; stator windings wound on the stator teeth; and a molded member made of heat conductive plastic material. The molded member has a plurality of fins arranged on an outer wall of the yoke portion, a covering portion disposed in the spaces between adjacent stator teeth, and two connecting portions respectively located at axially outer end faces of the yoke portion and connected to the covering portion and the fins. The covering portion covers an inner wall of the yoke portion and the stator windings, and connects to the fins via the connecting portions. Heat generated by the stator windings is transmitted to the fins via the covering portion and the connecting portions, where it is dissipated.
