    摘要: A condenser in which the condenser tubes can be accessed for endoscopic examination in situ, without taking any part of the condenser off-line (except the specific tube being examined). The condenser's outlet water box has one or more inspection ports in its endwall, and a hollow rigid probe can be inserted through the outlet water box to dock with the end of a tube in the condenser. A flexible endoscopic probe can then be inserted through the rigid probe, to inspect the interior of the tube thus accessed. The rigid probe can also be used to isolate the flow of a single tube, if desired.

    摘要: A mouthpiece is provided having a quick connect coupler to facilitate the rapid replacement of mouthpieces for use with breathing devices that may be used by many different individuals, such as in diver training classes and rental operations. In a preferred embodiment, the mouthpiece has a coupler including a pin to engage and lock with a slot in an opening of the regulator housing. The mouthpiece can further include one-way inhalation and exhalation pathways to prevent pathogenic entities in the exhalation and saliva of the diver from contaminated the body of the regulator. An exhaust tee is provided to direct bubbles away from the diver's line of vision. The regulator housing can further include an independent exhaust valve opening. A seal is provided to prevent the regulator body from flooding through the exhaust valve opening when the regulator is used with a mouthpiece having its own exhalation pathway. A flapper valve replaces the exhaust valve opening seal to permit conventional operation when the regulator is used with a conventional mouthpiece after being taken out of service for use by multiple users.

    摘要: A condenser structure wherein both ends of at least one tube, which is physically located among the other (numerous) tubes of the condenser's tube bundles, is not connected to the inlet water box nor to the outlet water box; instead, this tube is provided with separate inlet and outlet connections. The separate inlet connection is preferably provided with a separately-controlled admixture of water treatment chemicals. Also disclosed is an innovative method of operating a steam condenser. One or more tubes, which are physically located among the other (numerous) tubes of the condenser, are isolated to provide a real-time test loop. The tube thus isolated is chosen to be among the tubes with the highest heat load, so that this tube provides a worst-case proxy for scaling in the other condenser tubes. The isolated tube is frequently inspected for scaling (e.g. at intervals of a week or so), and addition of anti-scaling chemicals to the cooling water is controlled with reference to the scaling (or lack thereof) seen in the isolated tube. Preferably the level of treatment chemicals is held at a lower level in the isolated test loop than in the primary cooling water supply.

    摘要: In a peritoneal dialysis embodiment of the present invention, spent dialysate from the patient's peritoneal cavity passes, along a patient loop, through a dialyzer having a membrane that separates waste components from the spent dialysate, wherein the patient loop returns fresh dialysate to the patient's peritoneal cavity. The waste components are carried away in a second regeneration loop to a regeneration unit or sorbent cartridge, which absorbs the waste components. The regeneration unit removes undesirable components in the dialysate that were removed from the patient loop by the dialyzer, for example, excess water (ultrafiltrate or UF), toxins and metabolic wastes. Desirable components can be added to the dialysate by the system, such as glucose and electrolytes. The additives assist in maintaining the proper osmotic gradients in the patient to perform dialysis and provide the necessary compounds to the patient.

The mobile data cabinet includes an access switch to consolidate communications and connections among computing devices in the mobile cabinet and to consolidate communications to a central communication service through a main communication cable. A single data communication connection through the main communication cable and a single electrical power connection through a power delivery cable to the mobile cabinet reduces and simplifies number and difficulty of the disconnections and connections that must be made to move the mobile cabinet.
