A display device includes a touch panel display unit and a control unit including a processor that executes an operation program to control a display on the display unit and receive an instruction made by touching the display unit and detected by the touch panel function. The control unit performs, upon receipt of a scroll instruction made by the touching, scrollable display of a screen in the display unit, displays in a display region a scroll bar indicating, by a position thereof in the display region, which part of the image to be displayed is currently displayed on the screen, and displays, before the scrollable display ends, a stop position image indicating a stop position of the scroll bar in the display region, calculated from a display end position of the image displayed according to the scroll instruction, at a position corresponding to the stop position.

Provided is an image forming apparatus and a consumable cartridge managing method including a read/write part to read/write an information piece from/to the IC tag and a control part having a memory part on which a first apparatus intrinsic number is written. The control part determines whether or not a second apparatus intrinsic number is written on a use history region of the memory when the consumable cartridge is loaded. If the result is No, the control part writes the first apparatus number on the use history region and records additionally the first intrinsic number as the second apparatus intrinsic number on a replacement history region/loading history region of the memory part. If the result is Yes, the control part records additionally the second apparatus intrinsic number on the replacement history region/loading region of the memory part.

An image forming apparatus includes an activator, a command storage device and a controller. The activator activates a customer ID received by a UI, out of customer IDs stored in a customer ID storage device. The command storage device stores the activated customer ID in association with command information received by the UI. The controller changes a function setting of the image forming apparatus, according to the command information received from an external device, despite a security level being set to a high level, when function information included in the command information received from the external device via a communication device accords with the function information included in changeable command information stored in the command storage device.

An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus, a management terminal device, and a mobile terminal device. The mobile terminal device downloads and installs an application program, presents identification information to the management terminal device, and accepts a temporal ID. The management terminal device, upon accepting the identification information from the mobile terminal device, generates the temporal ID, presents the temporal ID to the mobile terminal device, and transmits the temporal ID to a user authentication device to register the temporal ID as a user ID of the guest user. When payment of a usage fee for the image forming apparatus by the guest user is completed, the management terminal device deletes registration of the temporal ID. The image forming apparatus performs user authentication when the guest user logs in to the image forming apparatus, and issues an invoice when the guest user logs out.

An image forming apparatus includes a reading section, a detection section, a determination section, and a decision section. The reading section reads an image of a first document and generates a document information item indicating the image and a sheet color of the first document. The reading section also reads an image of a second document and generates a document information item indicating the image and a sheet color of the second document. The detection section detects sheet colors based on the respective document information items. The determination section determines whether or not the sheet color each match any one of specific colors other than the white color. When the determination section determines that a sheet color matches one of the specific colors, the decision section decides a transmission address of the document information items based the one specific color.

When accepting a launch gesture on the icon under the gesture acceptance control, the control unit retrieves the window information from the storage section and allows the display section to display a window for displaying the file associated with the icon in the size and position indicated by the window information.
