摘要: The present invention provides a plasma display panel and a method for driving the plasma display panel each of which ensures to suppress problems associated with an erroneous discharge resulting from accidental occurrence of a strong discharge in a reset period as well as with an address discharge delay. The problems are suppressed without applying an auxiliary erase pulse after the reset period ends. As a result, image display is provided with no flickering and good quality. The reset period includes a first step of applying a voltage having an ascending ramp waveform and a second step of applying a voltage having a descending ramp waveform. Between the first and second steps, a potential change waveform having a rise or fall (voltage change pulse) is applied at least to scan electrodes, sustain electrodes, or address electrodes.

摘要: Provided are a PDP device and a drive method thereof which restrict the generation of an erroneous discharge in the all-cell reset period and to restrict the appearance of flickers in the areas with low grayscale levels even if some areas have a lower firing voltage than the other areas due to variation of a property in the panel surfaces or due to a long-term driving, or even if the voltage applied to the address electrode is increased with the pursuit of high definition. The pulse Pul.3 is applied to address electrodes Dat at timing t0 prior to timing t1 when the potential of the scan electrodes Scn is increased to Vq(V). In this drive method, voltage Vx(V) is applied to address electrodes Dat so that there is no potential difference between the scan electrodes Scn and the sustain electrodes Sus at timing t0 when discharge Dis.3 is generated. Accordingly, the discharge Dis.3, which is generated between the scan electrodes Scn and the sustain electrodes Sus due to reduction in the firing voltage, does not become a trigger for extending to the scan electrodes Scn to generate an erroneous discharge.

摘要: An unnecessary discharge caused in the discharge cells in an initializing operation is prevented. This reduces the luminance of black level in a display image and stabilizes the address discharge at the same time, thus enhancing the image display quality. A plasma display panel that has a plurality of discharge cells having data electrodes and display electrode pairs, each formed of a scan electrode and a sustain electrode, is driven for gradation display such that a plurality of subfields is set in one field and each of the subfields has an initializing period, an address period, and a sustain period. For the above purpose, in the driving method for the plasma display panel, the following operations are performed. In the address period of a predetermined subfield, after the application of a scan pulse to all the scan electrodes is completed, a ramp voltage gently falling from a first voltage is applied to the sustain electrodes. In the period during which the falling ramp voltage is applied to the sustain electrodes, a second voltage is applied to the data electrodes.

摘要: In the initializing period of each of sub-fields comprising one field, one of all-cell initializing operation and selective initializing operation is performed. The all-cell initializing operation causes initializing discharge in all the discharge cells for displaying an image. The selective initializing operation selectively causes initializing discharge only in the discharge cells subjected to sustaining discharge in the preceding sub-field. Provided in the all-cell initializing period is an abnormal charge erasing part in which application of a rectangular waveform voltage to the scan electrodes causes self-erasing discharge in the discharge cells having excessive wall voltage accumulated therein.

摘要: An antenna includes two elements having an antenna element which resonates by a frequency f1 and a ground wire element which resonates by a frequency f2 higher than the frequency f1. The antenna element is directed so that an antenna radiation part is located to be substantially parallel to a surface of a casing on which an operating part is provided. The ground wire element is directed so that a ground wire radiation part is located substantially vertically to the surface of the casing on which the operating part is provided. Further, a space between a feeding terminal connecting part of the antenna element and a ground terminal connecting part of the ground wire element is set to be equal to a space between a feeding terminal and a ground terminal and the feeding terminal connecting part is arranged to be parallel to the ground terminal connecting part.

摘要: To reduce the air exhausted to outside a main body after cooling a heat generating component from being taken in again from an intake port. The flow of cooling wind cooled the heat generating component is discharged from an exhaust port at other than a first peripheral wall with the flow bent inside the main body. When rectified inside the main body and discharged from the exhaust port, the cooling wind grows to a flow speed of a certain extent to become an exhaust air that a flowing direction is clearly defined, so that it is less likely to be taken in again from the intake port, it is less likely to be subjected to the influence of obstacles of the exhaust port, use can be made in a kitchen cabinet of the intake and exhaust air at the back side, and it is satisfactory and is less likely to be damaged without involving sense of unpleasantness by the exhaust air to the user.
