    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier; a development unit for forming a toner image on the image carrier by supplying a toner contained in a developer reservoir to a latent image formed on the image carrier by means of a developer carrier; a transfer unit for transferring the toner image formed on the image carrier onto a transfer medium; a recovery unit for recovering the toner remaining on the image carrier after image transfer; a return unit for transporting the recover toner recovered by the recovery unit so as to return the recover toner into the developer reservoir of the development unit; and a separator/feeder for separating the toner contained in the developer reservoir from the recover toner thereby exclusively feeding the toner contained in the developer reservoir to the latent image formed on the image carrier by means of the developer carrier.

A plurality of second viscoelastic bodies are disposed in guide holes of a second rotary member. Each of the first and the second viscoelastic bodies has an elastic coefficient changing in accordance with aging due to use. A guide member moves a contact member along the insertion hole and the guide hole. The contact member applies a compressive load to the first viscoelastic body. The aging of the second viscoelastic body due to the compressive load applied thereto moves a position of the first viscoelastic body where the compressive load is received from the contact member toward a farther side from a rotational shaft side.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a fixing member having a cylindrical or annular shape for fixing an image onto a sheet which is in pressure contact with an outer surface thereof; and a heating source for heating the fixing member to a fixing temperature. A duct is provided in a position facing the fixing member with respect to a width direction perpendicular to a circumferential direction of the fixing member and which has an inlet for taking in fine particles generated from the fixing member. An exhaust fan is provided inside the duct or in an outlet of the duct for generating an air flow going from the inlet to the outlet of the duct. A first filter member is provided upstream or downstream from the exhaust fan inside the duct and the first filter can trap the fine particles which flow through the duct getting on the air flow. A control section controls an amount of the air flow passing through the first filter member according to initial burst conditions under which the fine particles are emitted from the fixing member.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier that rotates by power generated by a driving source. A power transmission system transmits the power from the driving source to the image carrier. The power transmission system includes a coupling member to attenuate oscillation. The coupling member includes a viscous fluid, male and female fittings, and a rotating resistor. The viscous fluid provides a resistance against rotation of the image carrier. The male and female fittings are mutually fitted and rotatably supported on a rotary shaft of the image carrier penetrating through the male and female fittings in a direction in which they are mutually fitted. The rotating resistor is accommodated together with the viscous fluid in an accommodation space defined by a recess of the male fitting and a bottom inner surface of the female fitting. The rotating resistor integrally rotates with the rotary shaft.
