Abstract: A wireless power transmitting device according to an embodiment of the present specification relates to a wireless power transmitting device for transmitting wireless power to a wireless power receiving device, and comprises: a power conversion circuit including a primary coil for transmitting the wireless power to the wireless power receiving device; and a communication/control circuit for communicating with the wireless power receiving device and controlling the power conversion circuit, wherein, before transmitting the wireless power to the wireless power receiving device, the communication/control circuit temporarily applies driving power to the primary coil and then stops the transmission of the driving power, and obtains a quality factor on the basis of a change in the voltage or current of the primary coil during a period of time in which the transmission of the driving power is stopped.

Abstract: A wireless power transmitting device according to an embodiment of the present specification transmits wireless power to a wireless power receiving device, and includes a power conversion circuit including a primary coil for transmitting the wireless power to the wireless power receiving device and a communication/control circuit for communicating with the wireless power receiving device and controlling the power conversion circuit, wherein, to detect foreign substances between the wireless power receiving device and the wireless power transmitting device, the communication/control circuit stops the transmission of the wireless power for a slot time, detects the foreign substances on the basis of a change in the voltage or current of the primary coil within the slot time, and sets the slot time to start from a point in time when the current of the primary coil is 0.

The wireless power receiver transmits, to the wireless power transmitter during a configuration phase, a configuration packet including an AI flag related to whether the wireless power receiver supports an authentication function, receives, from the wireless power transmitter during a negotiation phase, a capability packet including an AR flag and a potential power value of the wireless power transmitter, wherein the AR flag is related to whether the wireless power transmitter supports the authentication function, and performs a power transfer phase with the wireless power transmitter. The wireless power receiver transmits, to the wireless power transmitter during the power transfer phase, an authentication request message, and receives, from the wireless power transmitter during the power transfer phase, an authentication response message.
