Abstract: According to the present disclosure, a washing machine includes: a cabinet; a tub disposed in the cabinet and configured to receive water; a drum rotatably disposed in the tub and configured to receive laundry; a drawer configured to be inserted into and withdrawn out of the cabinet, the drawer being configured to contain detergent; a first passage connecting the drawer and the tub; a detergent supply device disposed at the cabinet, the detergent supply device being configured to contain detergent; and a second passage disposed between the detergent supply device and the tub or between the detergent supply device and the drawer, the second passage being configured to guide the detergent contained in the detergent supply device to the tub or the drawer.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a washing machine and a control method of the same. The washing machine includes: a detergent supply device which supplies a liquid additive to the tub; and a controller which controls the operation of the detergent supply device. The detergent supply device includes: a plurality of cartridges which contain the additive respectively; an electrode sensor which detects conductivity of the additive contained in the plurality of cartridges; and a pump which extracts the additive contained in the cartridge. The controller determines a type of additive contained in the cartridge based on a detection value of the electrode sensor.

Abstract: A washing machine includes a cabinet, a tub, a drum, a drawer disposed within the cabinet to hold detergent, a drawer housing configured to insert into and withdraw from the cabinet, a water supply guide flow channel for supplying water passed through the drawer into the tub, a top cover housing covering an open top of the cabinet and defining a receiving space above the cabinet, a detergent mixer disposed in the receiving space, and a discharge guiding mechanism. The detergent mixer includes additive cartridges that accommodate liquid additives, additive pumps corresponding to the additive cartridges, and a flow channel box including pump intake paths that guide the additives from the additive cartridges to the additive pumps and pump discharge paths that guide the additives discharged from the additive pumps. The discharge guiding mechanism guides the additives discharged from the pump discharge paths to the water supply guide flow channel.
