Abstract: Provided is an induction heating type cooktop that senses overheating of a thin film to prevent the thin film from being overheated. The induction heating type cooktop includes a case, a cover plate coupled to an upper end of the case and configured to comprise an upper plate, on which an object to be heated is disposed on a top surface thereof, a thin film applied on the upper plate, a working coil configured to generate magnetic fields for heating the object to be heated, and a controller configured to determine whether the thin film is overheated and reduce an output level when the thin film is overheated.
