    Abstract: A dynamic image stitching system for stitching images captured by cameras of a vision system for a vehicle includes a plurality of cameras disposed at the vehicle and having respective fields of view exterior the vehicle. The field of view of each side camera partially overlaps the field of view of a front camera and partially overlaps the field of view of a rear camera. Image data captured by the plurality of cameras is processed at a processor to detect an object present in an overlapping portion of the fields of view of two cameras. The processor stitches, via a stitching algorithm, image data captured by the cameras. The processor adjusts the stitching algorithm responsive to a determination of a difference between a characteristic of the feature as captured by one of the two cameras and the characteristic of the feature as captured by another of the two cameras.

    Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a plurality of cameras disposed at a vehicle and capturing image data as the equipped vehicle is driven along a traffic lane of a road. Captured image data is processed to detect a rearward-approaching vehicle and determine a path of travel of the detected rearward-approaching vehicle. Responsive to determining that the path of travel of the detected rearward-approaching vehicle is along a side traffic lane adjacent to the traffic lane along which the equipped vehicle is driven, the vehicular vision system (i) displays at a video display screen video images derived at least from image data captured by the side camera that is at the side portion of the equipped vehicle that is adjacent to the side traffic lane and (ii) overlays a transparent graphic overlay overlaying the displayed video images that is based on the determined path of travel of the detected rearward-approaching vehicle.

    Abstract: A vehicle vision system includes a plurality of cameras disposed at a vehicle and having respective exterior fields of view and a display screen for displaying images derived from captured image data in a surround view format where captured image data is merged to provide a single composite display image from a virtual viewing position. A gesture sensing device is operable to sense a gesture made by the driver of the vehicle. A control provides a selected displayed image for viewing by the driver to assist the driver during a particular driving maneuver. The control is responsive to sensing by the gesture sensing device, whereby the driver can adjust the displayed image by at least one of (a) touch and (b) gesture to adjust at least one of (i) a virtual viewing location, (ii) a virtual viewing angle, (iii) a degree of zoom and (iv) a degree of panning.

    Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes at least one camera having a field of view exterior the vehicle. An image processor is operable to process image data captured by the camera. When the vehicle is parked, a control controls the camera to capture frames of image data at a first capture rate. The control compares a frame of captured imaged data to at least one previous frame of captured image data. Responsive to the comparison determining a change in the frames of captured image data beyond a threshold degree of change, (i) the control increases the capture rate to a second capture rate, (ii) the at least one camera captures frames of image data at the second capture rate and (iii) the control activates a recording device to record images captured by the camera at the second capture rate.
