Abstract: A device and method for locking in button context based on a source contact of an electronic communication is provided. An electronic communication is received, via a communication interface, from a source contact. A controller detects that a button, of one or more buttons external to the device, has been activated, each of the one or more buttons mapped to activation of respective functions. The controller identifies a respective function mapped to the button. When the button is activated within a threshold time period after receiving the electronic communication, the controller performs the respective function using the source contact from which the electronic communication was received. When the button is activated after the threshold time period, the controller performs the respective function independent of the source contact.

Abstract: A method and server for determining the current location of a person of interest (POI) is provided. The server receives a first indication that a first searcher has identified a POI and requests first route information from the first searcher. Upon receiving the first route information from the first searcher, the server determines if second route information relating to the person of interest has been received from a second searcher. If so, the server determines a search area for the person of interest based at least in part upon the first route information and the second route information.

Abstract: A force-scalable stationary interface control is provided. Abstract: A user interface (102) for a touchscreen (106) is provided. The user interface (102) comprises a physical overlay (108) having a rotatable guide wheel (110) with access through-holes (112, 114) formed therein. The touchscreen (106) of a portable communication device (104) can be accessed though the access through-holes (112, 114) and controlled via the rotatable guide wheel (110) without having to view the screen. Fingertip insertion into the access through-holes (112, 114) activates and selects different predetermined functions, while rotation of the rotatable guide wheel (110) controls variation for each predetermined function. The user interface may (102) be incorporated as part of a carry case, holster (130), harness or formed as an attachable and removable overlay plate (308) to correspond with the touchscreen (106).
