摘要： An occupant protection device is provided which protects an occupant by inflating a seat bag and a lap bag. When a vehicle collision is detected, gas generators are activated and discharge gas. The gas from one of the gas generators inflates a tube. As a result, a front portion of a cushion pad of a seat cushion is pushed upward or hardened and the hips of the occupant are prevented from moving forward. A lap bag also inflates and restrains the hips of the occupant. In one form, a lap anchor inflates so that pretension is applied to a lap portion and the hips of the occupant are pushed downward. Therefore, the thighs and hips of the occupant are pushed between the lap portion and the front portion of the cushion pad which is pushed upward or hardened and are strongly restrained in the seat.

摘要： An airbag device is provided to reduce the deployment force of an airbag when a vehicle occupant or a child seat is positioned adjacent to an airbag device or a vehicle-body component adjacent to the airbag device. In one form, a passenger-seat airbag device is set in an instrument panel and includes a bracket which is fixed to a vehicle-body member with, for example, a bolt. A strain gauge is attached to the bracket. If a vehicle occupant or a child seat is positioned adjacent to the airbag device, and when an airbag in the process of inflation comes into contact with, for example, a vehicle occupant, the opposing force is transmitted to the bracket via a retainer, such that a strain which is different from that of the normal deployment process is generated in the bracket and detected by the strain gauge for reducing airbag deployment force.

摘要： An airbag to be inflated by gas for a vehicle includes a base member for the airbag, an opening and closing vent provided in the base member, and a discharging gas control member for restraining gas from discharging from the opening and closing vent. The discharging gas control member closes or slightly opens the opening and closing vent when an occupant does not contact a front surface of the airbag facing the occupant when the airbag is inflated. The discharging gas control member opens or widely opens the opening and closing vent so as to allow the gas to be discharged from the opening and closing vent when the occupant contacts the front surface of the airbag, and the front surface is pushed in a direction opposite to the occupant.

摘要： Provided are an airbag and an airbag device whose size of a package when the airbag is folded can be reduced while demonstrating effects of an inner chamber. An airbag device in the present invention includes a gas generator configured to generate gas under predetermined conditions, an airbag connected to the gas generator to be inflated and deployed, and a retainer configured to accommodate the airbag. The airbag includes an inner panel arranged in the interior thereof and a connection panel having a surface area smaller than the inner panel, and the inner panel includes a center seamed portion connected to an inner surface of the airbag with respect to the direction of thickness and a plurality of outer peripheral seamed portions connected to the connection panel which is arranged on the inner surface of the airbag apart from the portion where the center seamed portion is connected. The outline of the inner panel 4 between the outer peripheral seamed portions when the inner panel is deployed in a plane is formed into a shape following a straight line connecting the outer peripheral seamed portions.
