    摘要: A panel is formed by laminating a pair of substrates with each other. A first seal material is provided on one of the substrates and a second seal material is provided to completely surround the first seal material. The pair of substrates is laminated with each other in a state where a cell space is formed therebetween and the first and second seal materials are sandwiched between the substrates. An inner space of the second seal material containing the cell space is depressurized through an opening provided outside the first seal material and inside the second seal material. A portion where the second seal material is provided is removed so that the cell space formed by the first seal material remains.

    摘要: In order to provide a cholesteric liquid crystal display element of a structure capable of forming a color in the background by means of a low cost electrode structure and burying an Off display color completely in the background color, the color of the display part and background part of the display element is formed by a color reflection state and a transparent state. This configuration makes it possible to form a color in the background so as to bury the Off display color completely in the background by employing a low cost electrode structure, thereby improving a suitability to an industrial design and accomplish a display of a good visibility.

    摘要: A method of filling a multilayered cell with media. In the method, a multilayered cell having at least two layers, i.e., a first and second layer, is filled with media. The method comprises forming in the first layer a first medium injection region for filling the first layer with a first medium, forming in the second layer a second medium injection region for filling the second layer with a second medium, the second medium injection region corresponding to a region different from the first medium injection region, superposing the first and second layers, forming within the first medium injection region a first through-hole extending through the multilayered cell in the layer-thickness direction, forming within the second medium injection region a second through-hole extending through the multilayered cell in the layer-thickness direction, and injecting the first and second media into the first and second through-holes, respectively, to fill the first and second layers with the first and second media. Thus, a multilayered cell can be easily produced in a shorter time while attaining a reduction in deterioration during production.
