Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for coordinated video streaming and messaging using a wrist-wearable device and a head-worn wearable device. The method includes receiving an instruction to use a camera of a head-worn wearable device to capture video data. The method further includes, after receiving the instruction to use the camera of the head-worn wearable device to capture the video data, receiving, at a wrist-wearable device that is in communication with the head-worn wearable device, electronic messages from a viewer of the video stream and monitoring sensor data indicating one or both of a position of the head-worn wearable device and (ii) a position of the wrist-wearable device to determine when to display the electronic messages. The method also includes, in accordance with a determination that the sensor data indicates that a message-viewing precondition is present, displaying the electronic messages from the viewer of the video stream.

Abstract: One example of a method of using thumb-based gestures to navigate within and between applications is described herein. The method includes causing presentation of application content associated with an application to a user of a wrist-wearable device, the wrist-wearable device including a biopotential-signal-sensing component. The method includes, in response to receiving a first indication, based on data from the biopotential-signal-sensing component, that a thumb of the user is moving in a first direction on a portion of a hand of the user, causing presentation of different application content associated with the application. And the method includes, in response to receiving a second indication, based on data from the biopotential-signal-sensing component, that the thumb of the user is moving in a second direction, on the portion of the hand of the user, causing presentation of other application content associated with another application, the other application distinct from the application.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for temporarily enabling use of an operation for access at a wrist-wearable device (e.g., a smart watch). A method includes installing, on a wrist-wearable device worn by a user, data to enable use of an operation on the wrist-wearable device only while an operation-use precondition is present, where the operation-use precondition is specifically associated with the operation. The method further includes, while the operation-use precondition is present, enabling use of the operation on the wrist-wearable device. And the method further includes, in accordance with determining that the operation-use precondition is no longer present, removing at least some of the data from the wrist-wearable device to make the operation unavailable on the wrist-wearable device.

Abstract: An example method of adjusting a detachable display capsule of a wrist-wearable device to operationally complement a wearable-structure attachment is disclosed. The method includes, while a display capsule is configured to use a default set of display characteristics for operating-system or application-level user interfaces, receiving identifying information for a respective wearable structure, the display capsule being configured to detachably couple to one of a plurality of wearable structures to form a wrist-wearable device. In accordance with a determination that the display capsule should be adjusted based on the identifying information, the method further includes adjusting the display capsule (i) to cease using the first set of display characteristics and (ii) to instead use a customized set of display characteristics associated with the respective wearable structure. The customized set is distinct from the default set and is also used in conjunction with the operating-system or application-level user interfaces.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using sensor data from a wrist-wearable device to monitor image-capture trigger conditions for determining when to capture images using an imaging device of a head-wearable device. One example method includes receiving, from a wrist-wearable device communicatively coupled to a head-wearable device, sensor data; and determining, based on the sensor data received from the wrist-wearable device, whether an image-capture trigger condition for the head-wearable device is satisfied. The method further includes in accordance with a determination that the image-capture trigger condition for the head-wearable device is satisfied, instructing an imaging device of the head-wearable device to capture image data.

Abstract: Methods and systems of coordinating display of biometric data at a head-worn wearable device based on sensor data from a wrist-wearable device are disclosed. A method includes receiving an indication that a user of a head-worn wearable device is performing a physical activity. The head-worn wearable device includes a light-emitting diode visible to the user while wearing the head-worn wearable device and is in communication with a wrist-wearable device worn by the user. The wrist-wearable device is configured to sense biometric data for the user during the physical activity. The method includes, after receiving the indication and while the user is performing the activity, in accordance with a determination that the biometric data satisfies a physiological-based threshold indicating that information about the biometric data would assist the user in performing the physical activity, causing the head-worn wearable device to present, via the light-emitting diode, the information about the biometric data.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining when to cease capturing video via a head-worn wearable device. The method includes capturing, via a head-worn wearable device that includes a camera, video data. The method further includes, while capturing the video data, monitoring sensor data indicating one or both of (i) a position of the head-worn wearable device and (ii) a position of a wrist-wearable device that is communicatively coupled with the head-worn device to determine when to cease capturing the video data. The method further includes, in accordance with a determination that at least some of the sensor data indicates that one or both of (i) a video-capturing precondition is not present at the head-worn wearable device and (ii) a video-viewing precondition is present at the wrist-wearable device, ceasing to capture the video data and causing the video data to be displayed on a display of the wrist-wearable device.
