Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate an automated assistant that provides suggestion elements at an OEM application and/or third-party application that is accessible via an OEM vehicle computing device, which employs restrictions on communications between local applications. The automated assistant can render suggestions via OEM vehicle applications and/or third-party applications, and initialize actions for performance via the OEM vehicle applications and/or the third-party applications—despite the limitations. The suggestions can be rendered at a graphical user interface of a vehicle, and include content that, when spoken by a user, causes the automated assistant to initialize such actions. Actions that are suggested by the automated assistant can be performed by third-party applications that are different from a third-party application that is rendering the suggestion. In this way, a common automated assistant can be indiscriminately available via various vehicle computing devices, despite differences in restrictions of communications between vehicle applications.

Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to an automated assistant that can provide a selectable action intent suggestion when a user is accessing a third party application that is controllable via the automated assistant. The action intent can be initialized by the user without explicitly invoking the automated assistant using, for example, an invocation phrase (e.g., “Assistant . . . ”). Rather, the user can initialize performance of the corresponding action by identifying one or more action parameters. In some implementations, the selectable suggestion can indicate that a microphone is active for the user to provide a spoken utterance that identifies a parameter(s). When the action intent is initialized in response to the spoken utterance from the user, the automated assistant can control the third party application according to the action intent and any identified parameter(s).

Abstract: A wearable device for use in immersive reality applications is provided. The wearable device includes eyepieces to provide a forward-image to a user, a first forward-looking camera mounted on the frame and having a field of view, a processor configured to identify a region of interest within the forward-image, and an interface device to indicate to the user that a field of view of the first forward-looking camera is misaligned with the region of interest. Methods of use of the device, a memory storing instructions and a processor to execute the instructions to cause the device to perform the methods of use, are also provided.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer readable media related to interaction between a user and an automated assistant during a dialog between the user and the automated assistant. Some implementations are directed to adapting a graphical and/or audible presentation of search results provided by the automated assistant for presentation to the user. The adaptation may be in response to attribute(s), of one or more of the search results, referenced in spoken and/or typed textual input provided by the user during the dialog. Some of those implementations may enable a user to provide textual input to navigate the search results within the dialog and within resource and/or interface constraints associated with the dialog. Some of those implementations may additionally and/or alternatively enable adapting, based on textual input provided by a user to the automated assistant, when and/or whether search results having certain attributes are provided to the user by the automated assistant.

Abstract: A fire alarm control panel (FACP) in a fire alarm system includes a processor in communication with a communications interface. The processor is configured to receive an event signal from an initiation device. The FACP also includes a display, controlled by the processor, indicating a status of the fire alarm system and configured to present a plurality of icons corresponding to a plurality of voice messages to be selectively played in response to receiving one or more event signals from the initiation device. The FACP further includes an embedded microphone mounted in the fire alarm control panel adjacent to the display. The FACP also includes a programmable microphone interface controlled by the processor, in communication with the embedded microphone. The microphone interface is configured to generate one or more voice commands using the embedded microphone in response to receiving one or more event signals from the initiation device.

Abstract: Example techniques involve invoking voice assistance for a media playback system. In some embodiments, a NMD stores in memory a set of command information comprising a listing of playback commands and associated command criteria. The NMD captures a voice input and detects inclusion, within the voice input, of one or more particular playback commands from among the playback commands in the listing. In response, the NMD selects a local voice assistant that supports (a) one or more additional playback commands relative to a cloud-based VAS and (b) fewer non-playback commands relative to the cloud-based VAS, determines, via the local voice assistant, an intent in the captured voice input, and performs a response to the determined intent. The NMD foregoes selection of the cloud-based VAS when the local voice assistant is selected.

Abstract: A device, such as Network Microphone Device or a playback device, detecting an event associated with the device or a system comprising the device. In response, an input detection window is opened for a given time period. During the given time period the device is arranged to receive an input sound data stream representing sound detected by a microphone. The input sound data stream is analyzed for a plurality of keywords and/or a wake-word for a Voice Assistant Service (VAS) and, based on the analysis, it is determined that the input sound data stream includes voice input data comprising a keyword or a wake-word for a VAS. In response, the device takes appropriate action such as causing the media playback system to perform a command corresponding to the keyword or sending at least part of the input sound data stream to the VAS.
