摘要: Extended associations are determined based on binary associations. The extended associations are associations among three or more terms in input data, and the binary associations are between terms in the input data. An association data structure having a plurality of entries is constructed, where at least a particular one of the plurality of entries includes visual elements representing terms that are associated according to the binary associations and the extended associations, and where the association data structure provides a visualization of an association pattern among co-occurring terms in the input data

摘要: A scatter plot that represents plural periodic time intervals is animated as new data points are received, where the animating includes performing real-time backward rewriting. The real-time backward rewriting includes overlaying a subset of previously written data points with the new data points, and painting a remainder of previously written data points outside the subset in the scatter plot, where painting the remainder of previously written data points is performed without shifting pixels corresponding to the remainder. A divider structure is drawn in the scatter plot to indicate a position in the scatter plot between a current time point and a previous time point.

摘要: To perform time slice-based visual prediction, a weighted moving aggregate of data values in a data set is calculated over previous time slices to predict data values based on interactive user input. A visual accuracy indicator is generated for display to indicate a quality of prediction of data values at different times. A visualization presents data values from the data set and the predicted data values, where the data values from the data set and the predicted data values are represented as corresponding cells.

摘要: A method for coordinating recursive requests and responses in the peer-to-peer processing of a distributed application across a synchronous request/response interface. The method utilizes, on each side of the interface, a decision table and a local LIFO stack of generated and received requests, responses, and input from the application. The local stack is run in a push-pop manner and assists the local decision table in conducting the peer-to-peer processing until the LIFO stack becomes exhausted. A fault on either side of the interface results in undoing the processing by unwinding each stack back to a predetermined point. If one side operates as a persistent server, its application program environment is saved from one request to another by a dynamic save and simulated return to the application. Lastly, a request/demand is substituted for a demand/request by the server so as to change the server and requester roles of either side of the interface.

摘要: Visual structures are produced to represent corresponding motifs, where the motifs correspond to repeating patterns in an input data set, where sizes of the visual structures are based on values of a characteristic associated with the motifs, and where a first of the motifs is nested within a second of the motifs to represent a hierarchical relationship of the patterns represented by the first and second motifs. The visual structures of corresponding motifs are presented for display in a visualization screen, where the visualization screen depicts the data in the input data set with the visual structures overlapping parts of depicted data. Interactive input is received specifying modification of a region containing motifs, wherein the specified modification includes interactive distortion of the visual structures in the region to change a size of the visual structures in the region.

摘要: To provide non-overlapping visualization of data points of a scatter plot, bins in a visualization screen are defined. The bins are defined along a first dimension by a first attribute of the data points, and along a second dimension by a second attribute of the data points. Cells representing corresponding data points in the bins are placed using a placement algorithm that positions the cells in the bins according to values of the first and second attributes of the corresponding data points. If the placement algorithm detects plural data points that have identical values of the first and second attributes, the placement algorithm groups the data points having the identical values in nearby positions surrounding a position corresponding to the identical values of the first and second attributes to avoid overlay of the data points having the identical values of the first and second attributes.
