摘要： A photographic developing apparatus which visualizes a latent image formed on an image carrier is disclosed which includes:a developing powder carrier provided so as to be opposite to the image carrier;a layer forming member for forming a thin layer of developing powder over a circumferential surface of the developing powder carrier;a charge imparting member which is provided so as to be opposite to the developing powder carrier and causes an electric field between the charge imparting member and the developing powder carrier; andan electrification control member which is interposed between the charge imparting member and the developing powder carrier, and limits an ionization area caused by electric discharge in the electric field by receiving an intermediate electric potential between the electric potential of the charge imparting member and the electric potential of the developing powder carrier.

摘要： A development unit includes: a developing vessel in which a developing agent is received; a developing member as defined herein; a supply member which is supported in the developing vessel and disposed to be opposed to the developing member, the supply member rotating the developing agent in the developing vessel while holding the developing agent on a surface of the supply member to thereby supply the developing agent held on the surface to the developing member; and a thickness limiting member as defined herein, and the supply member is supported movably in a direction to expand or reduce a gap between the thickness limiting member and the supply member so that the gap between the thickness limiting member and the supply member can be adjusted.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier that carries a latent image; a charging device that charges the image carrier with a charging voltage having an AC component; and a roller that carries a developer to be supplied to the image carrier in a developing position, with a surface of the roller provided with axially-formed grooves, the frequency of the AC component of the charging voltage and the number of the grooves provided on the roller being set so that non-uniformity in density of an output image becomes invisible, caused by interference between the frequency of the AC component of the charging voltage and the frequency at which the grooves pass the developing position.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a rotating image carrier, a charging device, a latent image forming device, a developing device having a developer holder and developing a latent image as a visible image, a voltage application unit that generates a potential difference between the image carrier and the developer holder to form an electric field, by which toner is directed toward the latent image, in a developing region, and a transfer device that transfers the visible image of the image carrier to a medium, wherein the developer holder having a concavo-convex portion having a convex portion and a concave portion is provided in an outer surface thereof and formed such that the volume resistivity of a portion corresponding to the convex portion is set to be larger than the volume resistivity of a portion corresponding to the concave portion.
