Abstract: A method comprising, during multi-connectivity: sending a re-configuration message for execution by a user equipment; and sending a flag indicating an action to be taken by the user equipment during or after execution by the user equipment of an existing reconfiguration message, wherein the flag is configured to distinguish between at least two of the following actions: discarding the reconfiguration message; executing the reconfiguration message after executing an existing reconfiguration message; or prioritizing execution of the reconfiguration message over execution of an existing reconfiguration message.

Abstract: According to an example embodiment, a method may include receiving, by a user equipment from a serving base station associated with a source cell, a reconfiguration message that includes a target cell configuration for a target cell, a configuration of a conditional handover execution condition, and information that indicates that the user equipment should immediately decode and apply the target cell configuration upon receiving the reconfiguration message; and immediately decoding and applying, by the user equipment, the target cell configuration upon receiving the reconfiguration message, without waiting for the conditional handover execution condition to be fulfilled.

Abstract: Aspects of the invention pertain to a method, comprising receiving a preparatory handover request pertaining to at least one or more physical resources, respectively associated to a particular communication service, preliminarily deciding on the feasibility of such preparatory handover request for each of said at least one or more physical resources associated to the particular communication service dependent on at least one feasibility criterion, and validating the preliminary decision on the feasibility of the preparatory handover request dependent on at least one validation criterion. Likewise, corresponding apparatus and computer program products are addressed, both from network entity perspective such as a gNB, as well as from a terminal's perspective, e.g. from a UE perspective.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for source cell to provide a service/slice indication to the target cell in the handover preparation. The source cell provides to a target cell a list of one or more service/slice specific indications for individual ones of one or more network slices in a request for enhanced handover from the source cell to the target cell in a handover preparation phase. The source cell receives from the target cell, indications in a handover request acknowledgement of one or more selected network slices to be handed over from the source cell to the target cell using enhanced handovers. Performs make-before-break handovers to hand over these selected network slices from the source cell to the target cell and performs normal handovers for the one or more other network slices.

Abstract: Method, apparatus and computer program product able to determining whether a user equipment in a wireless communications network has applied a stored or acquired system information message of a new system information area within a predefined time, where the user equipment replaced a system information message of an initial system information area with a system information message of another system information area or with a cell-specific system information message of another cell. If the new system information area is equivalent to the system information area of the initial system information area, then the system information message for the initial system information area is applied. If the new system information area is different from the system information area of the initial system information area, then a system information message for that different system information area is applied.

Abstract: An apparatus includes at least one processor; and at least one memory including computer program code; wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to: establish a connection with a source cell; determine a first timing advance that indicates a propagation delay of uplink transmission to the source cell; determine a second timing advance that indicates a propagation delay of uplink transmission to a target cell; determine whether to initiate a handover procedure to the target cell, based at least on the first timing advance; and synchronize to the target cell during the handover procedure.
