Abstract: An HOD device, comprising: a framework; covering material, covering the frame work; at least one conductive region, provided on or in the covering material; wherein the conductive region is coupled to a capacitance detection circuit or a predetermined voltage level. The HOD device can be a vehicle control device such as a steering wheel. The conductive region comprises conductive wires which can be threads of the covering material. By this way, the arrangements of the conductive wires can be changed corresponding to the size or the shape of the frame work or any other requirements. Also, the interference caused by unstable factors can be improved since the conductive wires can be coupled to a ground source of the vehicle to provide a short capacitance sensing path.

Abstract: A key unit and a keyboard using the same are provided. The key unit includes a circuit board, an elastic element, a keycap, and a processing circuit. The circuit board includes a capacitance sensing circuit embedded therein, and the capacitance sensing circuit includes a pair of sensor electrodes. The elastic element is disposed on the circuit board. The keycap is moveably disposed above and spaced apart from the circuit board. The elastic element is disposed between the keycap and the circuit board so that the keycap moves between a non-depressed position and a depressed position with respect to the circuit board. The processing circuit is electrically connected to the pair of sensor electrodes to obtain a variation of a coupling capacitance between the pair of sensor electrodes and to determine whether the keycap is touched or depressed according to the variation of coupling capacitance.

Abstract: A wearable electronic device with a function of detecting a wearing state, comprising: a plurality of electrodes; a capacitance calculating circuit, coupled to the electrodes, configured to calculate capacitance variations generated by at least two of the electrode; and a wearing state determining circuit, coupled to the capacitance calculating circuit, configured to determine the wearing state according to the capacitance variations. The wearing state determining circuit determines that the user wears the wearable electronic device in a proper manner if the capacitance variations indicate at least two of the electrodes indicate the user touches wearing state determining circuit. By this way, the wearing state can be auto detected and the wearable electronic device can be correspondingly control according to the wearing state.

Abstract: A pressure measuring method, applied to a pressure measuring apparatus, comprising: measuring a first pressure sensing value when the pressure measuring apparatus operates at a first scan frequency and receives a first pressure; and measuring a second pressure sensing value when the pressure measuring apparatus operates a second scan frequency and receives the first pressure. The first pressure sensing value and the second pressure sensing value are different, and a change between the first pressure sensing value and the second pressure sensing value is according to a change between the first scan frequency and the second scan frequency. The first scan frequency and the second scan frequency are different. The pressure measuring method can further comprise a calibrating mechanism to compensate the sensed pressure. By this way, the pressure sensing value can be calibrated, to solve the issue that the pressure sensing values are affected by scan frequencies.

Abstract: A pressure sensing device, comprising: a frame work; a capacitive pressure sensor layer, surrounding the frame work; a capacitive touch sensor layer; and a flexible material layer, located between the pressure sensor layer and the touch sensor layer and surrounding the capacitive pressure sensor layer. The capacitive touch sensor layer is above the flexible material layer when the capacitive pressure sensor layer is below the flexible material layer. The capacitive touch sensor layer has a first driving electrode and a first sensing electrode. The capacitive pressure sensor layer has a second driving electrode and a second sensing electrode. A 3D gesture control system and a vehicle control system applying the pressure sensing device are also disclosed. Via the pressure sensing device, the 3D gesture control system and the vehicle control system can generate control commands according to a touch or a pressure provided by a user.

Abstract: A circuit carrier includes a substrate, a capacitive electrode layer, a plurality of metal pads and a plurality of bridges, and a plurality of conductive pillars. The capacitive electrode layer formed on a surface of the substrate and includes a plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of second electrodes. At least two of the first electrodes are connected to each other and be arranged across a die-bonding region of the substrate for separating at least two of the second electrodes that partially protrude from the die-bonding region to respectively form extensions. The metal pads and the bridges are formed on another surface of the substrate and are located outside of the die-bonding region. Each of the bridges connects two of the metal pads, and each of the conductive pillars is embedded in the substrate and connects one of the extensions and a corresponding one of metal pads.
