Abstract: A battery module includes multiple cells that are connected in parallel to each other and a positive-side lead plate electrically connected to a positive electrode of each cell. The battery module further includes a potential difference detection unit that detects three potential differences between two points of three points on the positive-side lead plate and a microcomputer that determines an abnormality of one cell based on a signal indicating the three potential differences between two points from the potential difference detection unit.
