摘要： A device for removing a mass lodged in a choking victim's throat comprises a manifold, piston, spool, and latch. The manifold has first, second, and third conduits in selective fluid communication with each other, with the second conduit terminating in an orifice in a mouthpiece. The spool, having a transverse orifice, may be disposed in the third conduit, slidable between a first position where the orifice permits fluid communication between the first and second conduits, and a second position where the spool blocks fluid communication. The piston is slidably disposed within the first conduit, and with the spool is in the second position, the latch is usable to secure the piston relative to the manifold at one or more discrete positions to create a measured amount of vacuum pressure in the first conduit. The vacuum pressure is transmitted to the mouthpiece by movement of the spool to said first position.

摘要： A telephone jack panel assembly suitable for modular digital installations which facilitates connection at a period of time when the frame upon which it is installed is already congested by previously installed connectors. As contrasted with conventional construction, the disclosed panel is provided with a rearwardly extending housing, which mounts plural multi-contact connectors which are interconnected to corresponding multi-contact jacks mounted upon the free ends of incoming telephone cables. Thus, only a relatively few plug connections need be made without the necessity of removing the jack from the main frame. The housings for each jack panel are so contoured as to form a horizontally oriented recess, one for each jack panel, when a plurality of such jack panels are assembled on the main frame in stacked relation.

摘要： A telephone connector block having improved means for temporarily retaining the ends of individual subscriber pairs adjacent the open ends of quick-clip connectors prior to engagement therewith using an installation tool. This is accomplished by a strain relief means which engages an individual conductor as the same is bent to substantially a right angle relative to the axis of the opening in the adjacent quick clip terminal whereby upon bending the end of the conductor and the engagement of a short projection on the strain relief means, the conductor remains in desired position prior to full engagement with the quick-clip terminal.

摘要： A talk line multiple communication and test apparatus for use in conjunction with telephone central office frame equipment and comprising a housing, a face plate, and a standard type rotary switch member having a plurality of positions mounted on said face plate and said housing having at least one input and at least one output connector of the Amphenol type fixedly connected thereto and disposed therewithin, means for electrically connecting said rotary switch with respect to said input and output connectors, said input and output connectors being of the panel mount type and being adapted to receive a mating connector in mating engagement therewith, at least one input jack mounted on said face plate and means for electrically connecting said input jack to said rotary switch, and a bias connector clip member which is positionable between an interior wall of said housing and pairs of mated input and output connectors to maintain the same in mated engagement for secure and positive electrical connection, wherein said bias connector clip member comprises a substantially U-shaped member and an end cap member within which are positioned the free ends of the legs of said U-shaped member with a threaded bolt extending longitudinally through said U-shaped member to compress the legs of said U-shaped member to selectively regulate the bowing-out of said legs in order to preselect the bias force exerted upon said mated Amphenol type connectors.

摘要： A vacuum device for removing a lodged mass or bolus from the throat of a choking victim. The device includes a pump for creating a vacuum chamber communicating with a mouthpiece having a frangible membrane. A resilient striker fractures the membrane to generate a substantially instantaneous vacuum to the mouthpiece to dislodge the mass. In one embodiment, the membrane is substituted by a manually displaceable sealing member, which is resealed after use of the device by movement of a vacuum-generating plunger.

摘要： A device for providing security and environmental protection to an individual telephone subscribed pair having an appearance at a building entrance terminal. The device prevents unauthorized removal of an R.J. 11 plug, and selectively closes the opening leading to a corresponding R.J. 11 jack. In one embodiment, a sliding door is fixed upon a mounting plate and is secured in position by a simple tumbler type lock. In another embodiment, the lock itself includes integrally formed flanges that perform the same function as the sliding plate. In still another embodiment, the plate is substituted by a small padlock hasp.

摘要： A telephone frame characterized in having both the connector and protector terminals on one surface thereof. The protective devices are mounted at a lower part of the frame, with connector terminals disposed thereabove. Channels are provided to facilitate the entry of cables to the opposite side of the frame to permit the very high density in the number of connectors available per square inch. Connector blocks are mounted in horizontal rows to be completely surrounded by vertical and horizontal cable and conductor-carrying troughs to facilitate the use of short length jumpers.
