    摘要: Telecommunication equipment includes a rack and telecommunication devices attached to the rack with mounting screws. A head of at least one of the mounting screws is shaped to constitute a grounding connector so that a connector terminal of a grounding cable is connectable to the grounding connector without loosening, detaching, or otherwise changing the position of the mounting screw. The other end of the grounding cable is connectable for example to clothes of a maintenance person so as to prevent static electricity from damaging electronic components of the telecommunication devices during maintenance work. There is no need for a separate grounding connector and its mounting screw because the at least one mounting screw of the telecommunication devices is arranged to act not only as the mounting screw but also as the grounding connector.

The system having: a network of a plurality of sensing/control/identification devices distributed throughout the machine, at least one of the plurality of sensing/control/identification devices associated with at least one sub-system component of the machine and operable to communicate through a plurality of electromagnetic signals; shielding surrounding at least one of the sensing/control/identification devices to contain the electromagnetic signals proximate to the at least one sub-system component; and a remote processing unit operable to communicate with the network of the sensing/control/identification devices through the electromagnetic signals, wherein the at least one of the plurality of sensing/control/identification devices has internal memory independent of the remote processing unit, the internal memory having historical data corresponding to the least one sub-system component.

    摘要: A kit for providing front-access cable terminations for rear-access shelf unit mounted in a rack system may comprise a terminal block panel, a terminal block, a set of extension cables, a rear panel, and a baffle. The terminal block panel may be configured to mount to the shelf unit. The terminal block may be mounted to the terminal block panel to provide front-access terminations for the shelf unit. The set of extension cables may provide electrical connection between the terminal block and one or more terminals disposed on a back plane associated with the shelf unit. The rear panel may be configured to attach to the shelf unit and to cover the set of extension cables. The baffle may be configured for installation in the rack system above the shelf unit and removable for access to the front-access terminations. The baffle may be configured to direct air flow rising from the rear-access equipment to the rear of the rack.

    摘要: A telecommunications apparatus for use with a plug having at least first, second and third pins. The telecommunications apparatus includes a plug connector for receiving the plug. The plug connector includes at least first, second and third electrical contacts for electrically contacting the first, second and third pins, respectively, when the plug is inserted in the plug connector. The plug connector also includes an electrical by-pass pathway that: i) electrically connects the first and second electrical contacts when the plug is fully removed from the plug connector such that a signal can enter the plug connector through the first contact, pass through the by-pass pathway to the second contact, and exit the plug connector through the second contact; and ii) does not electrically connect the first and second electrical contacts when the plug is fully inserted within the plug connector such that a signal can enter the plug connector through the first contact, pass through the plug to the second contact, and exit the plug connector through the second contact.
