Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for image signal processing. In a first aspect, a method of image processing includes controlling an image sensor to capture image data for determining a standard dynamic range (SDR) representation of a scene, the image data comprising a first series of image frames captured with a first exposure level and a second series of image frames captured at a second exposure level. The SDR representation of the scene may be generated by determining a first output image frame based on at least a first image frame of the first series of image frames. Determining of an exposure level for the image sensor during the SDR image capture may be based on a second image frame of the second series of image frames captured by the image sensor in a multi-frame sensor configuration. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for image processing are described. The method includes capturing from a sensor a first image frame using an initial exposure length, calculating, based on a clipping status of a set of one or more pixels of the first image frame, a predicted exposure length and a hedged exposure length, where the predicted exposure length is different from the hedged exposure length by at least a threshold, capturing from the sensor a first array of pixels using the predicted exposure length and a second array of pixels using the hedged exposure length, capturing from the sensor a second image frame using a converged exposure length, where the converged exposure length is based on a comparison of a saturation of the first array of pixels to a saturation of the second array of pixels, and outputting the second image frame.

The method may include receiving an image captured by an image sensor, determining depth information associated with the captured image, assigning weights to a plurality of illuminants based on the determined depth information, determining an auto white balance gain based on the assigned weights and statistics of the captured image, and applying the auto white balance gain to the captured image.
