Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A receiver may orient its antenna arrays based on signaling from a transmitter and a distance between the receiver and the transmitter. The transmitter may transmit an indication of an orientation of its antenna array. The receiver may receive the indication and may determine the distance between the receiver and the transmitter. Based on whether the distance between the receiver and the transmitter satisfies a threshold distance from the transmitter, the receiver may select an orientation for its antenna array. The receiver may select a first antenna orientation based on the distance failing to satisfy the threshold distance and may select a second orientation based on the distance satisfying the threshold distance

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may utilize parameterized codebooks to support reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted communications. For example, a network entity may receive an indication of one or more codebooks associated with respective sets of parameters including one or more of a respective field of view (FOV) or a respective configuration switching latency, among other parameters. The network entity may select a codebook for RIS-assisted communications based on whether the codebook satisfies one or more thresholds. The network entity may indicate the codebook to a RIS controller and may communicate one or more messages with a user equipment (UE) using a RIS in accordance with the indicated codebook.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a control message indicating a power scaling parameter dedicated to a frequency subband of a band for wireless communications by an antenna panel at the UE. In some cases, the UE may switch from a second frequency subband of the band to the frequency subband based on receiving the control message, and the UE may switch from a second power scaling parameter associated with the second frequency subband to the power scaling parameter based on switching to the frequency subband. The UE may transmit, by the antenna panel, a signal via the frequency subband at a transmit power that is based on the power scaling parameter dedicated to the frequency subband.

Abstract: In an aspect, a first network entity transmits, to a second network entity, beam management capability information including information indicative that the first network entity includes a first antenna array and a second antenna array. The first antenna array supports operation in a first frequency band and the second antenna array supports operation in a second frequency band. The first network entity determines a first beam in the first frequency band based on beam training information corresponding to the first frequency band. The first network entity determines a second beam based on the first beam. The second beam is in the second frequency band. The first network entity transmits, to the second network entity, information indicative of the second beam.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a receiving device may receive an indication of at least one factor associated with an antenna array thinning operation at a transmitting device. Accordingly, the receiving device may adjust at least one reception parameter at the receiving device based at least in part on the at least one factor. Similarly, a transmitting device may transmit an indication of at least one factor associated with antenna array thinning operation. Accordingly, the transmitting device may perform the antenna array thinning operation based at least in part on the at least one factor. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for dynamic polarization combining. The apparatus identifies a first polarization of a first set of antenna elements on a first side of an antenna module having two or more sides. The apparatus identifies a second polarization of a second set of antenna elements on a second side of the antenna module. The apparatus determines, for an antenna layer, a dynamic polarization combination between the first set of antenna elements having the first polarization with the second set of antenna elements having the second polarization. The apparatus communicates with a network node via the antenna module based on the dynamic polarization combination.
