A Mobile Switching Center Server receives a notification that a call for a terminal requires handover from a circuit switched access network to a packet switched access network. If so, then return Single Radio Voice Call Continuity is invoked to perform a handover of the call from the circuit switched access network to the packet switched access network. The SCP has a Service Domain Selection, SDS, function, which retrieves data relating to the UE from a Domain Selection function (802). Based on the retrieved data, the SDS selects either the IMS service domain or the CS service domain as the service domain for routing the call (803), and sends an indication of the selected service domain to the routing node (805). Other aspects include methods for domain selection at the originating and terminating sides of the call, and network entities configured to carry out the methods.

    摘要: A node in an IMS network receives circuit switched signalling relating to a communication session sent from a terminal over a circuit switched access network, and also receives packet switched signalling relating to the communication session sent from the terminal over a packet switched access network. The packet switched signalling comprises an identifier, and the node uses the identifier to correlate the circuit switched signalling with the packet switched signalling. This allows terminals using ICS to send signalling over both packet switched and circuit switched access networks, and a receiving node to correlate those signals.

The technique is applicable to user terminals that are capable of switching from a first network access domain to a second network access domain while services are provided to the user terminals. These access domain switching rules may be dynamically selected by the network node to control the access domain switching behavior of the user terminal.
