Abstract: Among other things, methods, systems and computer program products are disclosed for presenting a user interface for manipulation of audio waveforms associated with video content. In one aspect, a method can be performed by one or more processes executing on a computer system. Images representing video frames in a first region of a user interface can be displayed. An audio waveform representing audio associated with at least a portion of a video frame can be displayed. At least three audio waveform portions including (i) a first portion of the audio waveform that exceeds a first predetermined threshold, (ii) a second portion of the audio waveform below the first predetermined threshold and above a second predetermined threshold, and (iii) a third portion of the audio waveform below the second predetermined threshold can be graphically distinguished.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for viewing one or more items using a floating controller, wherein the floating controller displays a plurality of items from a sequence of items. In one implementation, the floating controller determines that a first item and a second item from the plurality of items have an association, and displays a visual indicator to indicate that the items are associated with each other. The visual indicator may be displayed between the first and the second item. Different visual indicators may be used to indicate different types of associations. Items on the floating controller may be selected by a user to display corresponding enlarged images. The corresponding enlarged images may be displayed side-by-side to allow them to be compared.

The sequence of items includes one or more undisplayed items that do not belong to the set of items. The set of items are displayed, in an arrangement that includes a plurality of lines, in an order that corresponds to the sequence. In response to user input that selects a particular item from the set of items, it is determined whether the number of lines, in the plurality of lines, that precede the line containing the particular item is less than a first predetermined threshold. If that is the case, a line of undisplayed items that precede the set of items is displayed, while a line of displayed items that follow the particular item is ceased to be displayed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for viewing one or more images using a floating controller is provided. A collection of digital images may be managed using a digital image system that displays images using a floating controller. While a pointer is over the floating controller, the floating controller is continuously displayed, but when the pointer is moved off the floating controller, a period of time during which no user input of any type is tracked. If, while the pointer is off the toolbar, an idle period exceeds a predetermined threshold duration, then the floating controller is hidden. A set of images of a bounded sequence of images may be displayed on the floating controller. A visual indication that indicates whether a particular image in the set of images is either the first or last image in the bounded sequence may be displayed on each image of the set of images.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and graphical user interface (GUI) for navigating within the contents of a computer file, and specifically within a large non-paginated graphical file. A first portion of the file is displayed at a first magnification. Thereafter, an option is selected to display a second portion of the contents of the file (preferably the entire file) at a second lower magnification. An area is defined within the displayed second portion that highlights the first portion. This area is moveable, preferably by clicking and dragging the area using a mouse pointer, to a new (third location) on the file. Abstract: Approaches for managing a library of digital images and information about any editing operations performed on those digital images are provided. A managed library of digital images and a referenced library of digital images may be maintained. Digital images may be moved from the managed library of digital images to the referenced library of digital images, and vice-versa. A preview digital image data may also be generated from master digital image data. Rather than performing image operations directly on the master digital image data, change data that identifies one or more operations to perform to a digital picture represented by either the preview digital image data or the master digital image data may be stored, thereby allowing operations to be performed on the preview digital image data when the master digital image data is not accessible. Digital image may be automatically renamed based on rules for doing so.
