Abstract:
A method of testing a cable is provided. The method includes measuring at least one inductive ratio for the cable, determining an inductive gap from the at least one inductive ratio, measuring a parallel impedance of the cable, and determining a resistance of the cable based on the inductive gap and the parallel impedance.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for use in troubleshooting installations of electronic devices are provided. In one example system for use in troubleshooting a plurality of intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), the system includes a computing device communicatively interfaced with a plurality of IEDs. The computing device includes a first communication interface to receive data from at least one IED and a processor coupled to the first communication interface. The processor is programmed to receive data from the at least one IED via the first communication interface and determine, based at least in part on the received data from the at least one IED, whether or not the plurality of IEDs is functioning properly.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a combustor system and method of measuring impurities in the combustion system. The combustion system includes an up-stream fuel injection point; a down-stream turbine combustor; a flame zone in the turbine combustor comprising a plurality of axial sub-zones; an optical port assembly configured to obtain a non-axial, direct, optical view of at least one of the plurality of axial sub-zones, and an impurity detection system in optical communication with the optical port assembly.
Abstract:
A method for generating a signal indicative of a pressure oscillation in a chamber is provided. The method includes sensing a pressure within the chamber, generating a signal relative to the sensed pressure, digitizing the signal, transforming the digitized signal from the time domain to the frequency domain to generate an energy spectrum, and analyzing the energy spectrum to determine an energy spike indicative of a substantially non-random component of the digitized signal.
Abstract:
A proximity probe system comprising a multi-coil proximity probe including a drive coil, a sense coil and a reference coil. The system includes a signal generator driving the drive coil with an alternating current for creating a magnetic field that induces eddy currents in a proximate conductive object resulting in an eddy current induced magnetic field emanating therefrom. The sense coil is interposed between the object and the drive coil for outputting an object induced alternating current that is detected by the system and correlated to a position of the object relative to the probe. The reference coil is positioned to be inductively coupled to the drive coil for carrying a drive coil induced alternating current that is detected, conditioned and feedback to the signal generator for controlling the magnetic field radiating from the drive coil while sensing the the object induced alternating current in the sense coil.
